currently have the i3-530, wanting to get the i7-860/70 or the i5-760/50 (dont really see a difference in the 750/60 tho) basicly i dont know which to get but i know i want one of them lol

Depends on your needs.

If you are primarily going to game, then I would suggest you get the i5 760/750. If you require more power, then just get the i7 and be happy.

The main diffs between i5 7xx and i7 8xx is HT + a 12x RAM multi on the i7's instead of topping out at 10. What the latter means is that you can run DDR3-2200, for example, at 184 bclk instead of 220.

I doubt there is a noticeable difference in gaming, aside a few select multithreaded games.

Think of it it logically, what you are asking is there a difference between a dual core and a quad core, if you was rendering or encoding which do you think would complete the job faster. If the game is multi-threaded, the same anology applies.

That is your answer.

I am very much so pleased with my 750. OC's really easy up to 3.8 then it needs quite a bit more voltage to hit 4.0 so I just run it at 3.8 instead.

But as others have said. For gaming purposes you won't need the i7 level, that's mainly if you need hyperthreading for things such as folding...
