Seems as though in games the i5 holds its own

In gaming, most processors will score similar results due to the GPU off loading the work, as a result most gaming reviews will have similar results with only slight variables + or - 1-10FPS with margin for error. So you really need to consider looking at the every benchmark not just gaming to get an idea of performance too.

No disrespect to the i5 at all, they're fantastic processors, but at its price price point there are better options. Its a shame that Guru 3D only had 3 games in their review, but overall the i5 was getting beat out by the Athlon II X4 620/630 in the majority of benchmarks which costs half the price - the motherboard is also half the price but that’s a different issue though.

Not sure if this will work but this is what Ive got so far, let me know if you guys can see the wish list.

Looks like a solid build, I would step down to the 920 though since you are overclocking anyways, the OC potential is the same.

Are we talking about the dual core Core i5 or the quad core Core i5? Because I was referring to the quad core Core i5s.

Sata 3 or not, you are doing fine. Just bump a faster hard drive (SSD? WD Black?) whenever you feel like you are slowing down.

I don't think current gen hard drives can even saturate a SATA II link is that right? I heard SATA I is at the limit with RAID 0 though.
