Guys,

I am in need of power and was notified that I cannot use a generator. I know I need batteries and a power inverter. I'll just cut the bs and get to the nuts and bolts.

Going to be running:
3 tvs (pretty sure all are 32 in)
1 ps3
1 xbox 360
1 DVD player

Looks like around 850-1000 watts. I will prolly be running them for about 3-4 hours and hopefully continuously.

So, I've done some figuring but I'd rather have someone who knows what they are talking about enlighten me. How many batteries do I need, connect parallel?, how big of inverter, and should this last and work for what I need. Thanks, any response is appreciated and the sooner the better. Planning this as I type. Thanks again.

The only batteries that will run those components for 3-4 hours are 8D batteries. They are rated at 250ah unlike car batteries which are only rated at 40-50ah. Be sure of the total power draw if it is 1000w then get a 1500w inverter. Remember Amps x volts=watts so watts / volts=amps. Do the math and you can determine how many amps you will draw per hour total. So figure your drawing a total of 100 amps an hour then a single 8D battery will only last you 2.5 hours with a full charge. OR 5 car batteries rated at 50ah connected in parallel Hopes this helps.

Also the inverter it's self will be drawing amperage so this will have to be factored in.

Ya a generator would be your best bet. You could get you an 2.5kw onan home site power generator for about 500 dollars I believe.

Here's a link to help you understand how much power is going to be drawn from the battery.
