Need Help Solving LatencyMon Issues

I am seriously considering naming my first child after the person who helps me resolve my computer audio issues!

I'm afraid I can't give you a solution, but I can tell you the reason/origin of your problem.

I do have the same laptop (12800hx/3700ti) but it also happens on way more models.

The crackling is because of the temperature. It usually happens when playing games or when the system is under heavy load.
On my case I do have an external sound card (sbx G6) and if I play games locally it starts crackling after 5-10mins but, if I play using the cloud (Geforce Now) I can spend hours without any problem.

Driver issues on the gpu might be indicating the card is prematurely failing

As already mentioned, check the temperature!
You have too much stuff running in the background...
The Killer stuff is known to crap the DPC latency, WiFi too...

I also have some tweaks for lower DPC latency, but they may not be good for laptop temperature/battery.

Hi,

Just created an account to tell you that I have the same issue.
I also have the same laptop, but with the 3070TI and also get audio issues when gaming or even downloading games.
I repasted my CPU and GPU with PTM7950 and it reduced the temperatures by 10 degrees.
However, as soon as my CPU hits 85 degrees, I get noticeable audio crackling from my external audio interface.
This leads me to believe that there is a heating issue, possibly a design flaw.

You can try following this thread and see whether that can fix your problem. This kind of problem is a long one, for me you can read the whole thread as I did have audio drop as well but it's not severe

revisiting hpet bcdedit tweaks: what are your timer bench results and settings?

only for advanced users: be aware that once settings are defined by bcdedit these can cause irreversible changes and damage to your system such as low fps and stuttering until windows is reinstalled! currently im in the process of revisiting some supposed tweaks for hpet and their implications...

I start to see a trend from my online search on this issue with LatencyMon cpu throttling and audio is hitching and popping from time to time but it's mostly people using a Nvidia gpu doesn't matter if it's desktop or laptop same sorry sadly.

I use my SteelSeries Arctic Wireless Pro which I am more than happy with and not gonna change back to wired because I use them around my apartment while cleaning and more.

I have disabled onboard audio on my AsRock B650M PG Riptide since I am not using it but I read people to go as far as stripping everything out of the Nvidia driver except the basic driver and physx with NVCleanInstall to get rid of these problems.


My current installation of Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC OS Build 26100.2161 do spike and my music pop from time to time but it's much better than it was before I started changing settings but it's not all the music I listen to or having a browser running that causes this.

I got my spikes and pops down using PowerSettingsExplorer by setting the AC value to Disabled, Idle Resiliency Deep Sleep Enabled/Disabled to Disabled, USB selective suspend settings to Disabled and some Processor power management:

My original Windows 11 Pro 23H2 with the installation date 06/10/2022 didn't have these issues but it ran as well and snappy as it could have with all the updates and more MS sends out and what I been going but I haven't had these issues until I installed Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC OS Build 26100.2161.

My ThinkPad L14 G2 runs the same build without any noticable issue so I am not sure what's going on here

Maybe it's just time for me to go full AMD setup to see if this fixes my audio hitching, cutting and popping from time to time.

It doesn't matter if I play audio using Winamp 5.9.2 from nvme ssd or hdd same thing.

Sorry my post is a bit all over the place just had a long day reinstalling getting Windows to the state I want and not struggling getting Windows to remember my window locations

I use the yellow ports for mouse and keyboard that's where they are suppose to go or am I wrong?

I use any of the ports marked in the red square for my SteelSeries Arctic Pro Wireless dac:

It's a bit random which port I use because I switch back and forward from my Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny.

But I have now connected the steelseries dac to the lower yellow port to see if it makes a difference, but it still doesn't it's pop

I guess I will have to reinstall Windows 11 or maybe go linux instead to see if the issue disappears.

Use the yellow for DAC/Mouse, keyboard go to any other port.

Didn't help with the dac in the keyboard and I never disable UAC have a long experience with that since Windows 8.1 where thing didn't always work as planned when UAC was disabled so I keep it enabled.

I all the bloat actually comes back with time sadly this is why I am tried of Microsoft.


I will reinstall Windows now and then try out the normal LTSC to see if this works if not I will try Windows 11 Pro and if this still doesn't work I do not know what has gone wrong with 24H2.

I have just gotten around to install Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC N and so far everything works.

I have installed AMD chipset driver and now I am gonna update AMD graphics driver and Nvidia driver and hope for the best.
