Hello everyone , i have been having problems with my gpu for a long time and wasnt able to fix it yet and today i was searching the bios database , i allways thought my bios was up to date because i use a program that should update it i guess but allways says its up to date but i saw a post of a bios version and the date was after the version im using , i just want to know if this version is newer than the one i have currently on my gpu

The version i currently have is this one : 86.04.60.00.60 and was posted 2017-09-11
and the one i saw and think is newer is this one : 86.04.60.40.29 and was posted 2018-03-13

so am i safe to update it ?

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
Is your GPU working properly? If so, I wouldn't bother. I can't imagine there is much difference in stability or performance. What do the notes say about the BIOS change...does it effect you? What GPU do you have in the first place?

Where did you find those BIOS'?

i found it here on the forum on the bios collection , and yes i have been having problems with this gpu , first of huge coil whine but i guess that cant be fixed and doesnt really bother me , but when gaming i have stable good fps and it just doesnt feel smooth i get alot of screen tearing , if i use gsync with vsync on and cap 3 fps bellow refresh rate like recommended by blur busters the tearing goes away i do notice abit of input lag but then it feels like its ghosting even on windows scrolling through the menus and moving folders arround i get a tear like efect and ghosting , its very weird i have never experienced nothing like this

I dont imagine this to be a problem caused by the bios of the GPU, but I've been wrong before! Again, what video card do you have? I assume 1080p monitor? Does it happen in all games?

Does the webpage for your video card show a newer bios is out there?

Consider filling out system specs so we know what you are working with. :)

yeah hapens in all games i just cant get rid of this tearing/aliasing artifact or whatever this is it happens the most on grainy textures foliage floors with alot of line patterns , it just doesnt go away
and even on windows some icons look like low res you can see the pixels arround , and when scroling i see lines

my specs are the following

GPU: GTX 1080 msi armor 8 GB OC
CPU : i7 8700 k Oc'd 4.6 ghz
MB: ASUS Prime z370 p

i guess not , i cant find nothing showing bios version , they do have a program wich is MSI Live Update wich is to update bios and other stuff , i do have it and it says theres no updates availabe , then i saw that "newer " version on the collection

i just took a print of my steam icon on the taskbar menu and it should not look like that on a 1080p screen it looks very low res , scalling settings are on 100% so it should not be like that

yes 1080 p , to be more specific its the Msi optix mag27c

Perhaps. Not sure as some thing scale automatically and well, others do not.

I still dont think a bios flash fixes that type of thing.

If the webpage for your GPU doesnt show a newer bios, I'd leave what you have on there after confirming the version you have is the latest.
