Need help with my P5GC-MX motherboard

i run A C2D E7400 on an ASUS P5GC-MX mATX motherboard.
the C2D supposedly run @ 2.8GHz.
but in the BIOS said it runs @ 2.1GHz...
i have updated to the newest BIOS..
and it's nothing...

any help????

I really don't know if you can or if anyone has run the E7400 on that MB, but the Asus website:http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us does not list that CPU on it's supported CPU list. The lastest bios (518) supports an E7300, but no mention of the E7400.

Have you tried running CPU-Z or something and checking the multiplier, voltages, bus speed, etc. it is running? CPU-Z:http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

You have to up the bus speed from 200 to 266, that board must support 1066 bus speed by overclocking only. It is a simple fix.

no option to change the bus speed...
just running @ 200MHz...

checked the CPU-Z
and the bus speed is running @ 200MHz
