well here is the SPD

Module Size: 1024 Corection:none
max bandwitch: PC2-4300 (266 Mhz)
manufacturer: kingston
part number: KC6844-ELG37 EPP: NO

TIMING TABLES:

FREQUENCY 200 mhz 266 mhz 266 mhz
CAS# Latency 3.0 4.0 5.0
RAS# to CAS# 3 4 4
RAS precharge 3 4 4
tras 9 12 12
Trc 12 16 16

WELL now i have submittet my ram,SPD, motherboard and bios. So how much should i overclock each of these things? how do i do? what do i do if computer wont start after overclocking. how do i see the results after ocing.

BTW: when i look in CPU-Z THE core speed is almost all the time 1596 mhz and almost never 2394 mhz even though i have a duo 2,4 ghz processor is this normal?

beck92 ur MEM is 533MHz, and on CPU-Z thats what I noticed with the 1.39v of CPU-Z is that it shows MULTIPLIER at the lower # and thats why the speed is lower when its does'nt have any load so its normal cuz mine is like that, and it better to Increase the BUS SPEED cuz with the MULTIPLIER at 9 since your ram is lower but since its a dell right ? your going have to do it in windows

ok well i heard many ppl saying dell are hard to oc... is it because they got bad vent or what? how much do u ppl think i should increase my bus speed to?
if i take from 266 to 300 will there be any problems? overheat, or causing it to run unstable or any bad things?

The reason that you can't change your fsb or anyother setting e.g. vcore is because your BIOS (Basic input output system) doesn't support any of those setting. Many of the motherboard that is 3~4 years old doesn't support overclocking features.

There is 2 way to solve this problem:
1- Flash your BIOS but I wouldn't recommanded and I am not expert in flashing.

2- The easier way is just buy a new motherboard. When you buy a mother baord choose:
gigabyte
asus
msi
some intel board e.g bad axe 2
abit
BFG
DFI
and even some foxconn board they have become pretty good in oc'in recently.
When buying choose the one with an award BIOS and the more mb a BIOS has the more feature it have. e.g my board have 8MB most board have 4MB

It doesn't matter when you bought it. The only thing that is stopping you from oc'ing is the motherboard and the BIOS. I can buy a motherboard which is 4 days ago and I still can't oc because the board is not manufactured for overclocking. Do you see what I mean Beck92?
