For your 980 Ti? I'd get a nice 1440p or 4K IPS screen. I like the Dell UltraSharp series a lot.

You are right, but I was only trying to be funny, not smart. I can see now it was a bad choice of words.

My public apology goes out to Toothless, I am sorry.

Your serious with this thread?

As you keep dropping in your "must haves" back to back to back as you go, I think you can do an easy google search and come up with your short list of G-Sync, 27" +, 144hz monitors. I think there is what, 3 or 4?

Took you advice and googled. I going with the Asus Predator XB27OHU.
Thank you

I disagree. You can't play Witcher 3 on 4k ultra settings with 980Ti. And if you can't play current titles, your not gonna play future 2016-2017 titles. Are you buying a 4k monitor and after like in 2016 you are intending to get a brand new pc? In that case invest in the monitor. If not a maximum of 24 inch 1080p IPS is enough.

This is interesting. I was hoping 2 or maybe even 3 years for it to last. (pc) What you are saying makes sense. Maybe I better rethink this buy, and at the same time save some money to. Why only a maximum of 24" on the monitor?
Thank you for your input.

Just do 3x1080p or a single 1440p. Either one will give a very good gaming view (depending on the game) while not making your 980TI not poop sparks.

Also too big of a monitor at close range can cause health issues.

Thanks. I will look at that avenue to. I have a 28" now and am sitting about 3-4 feet away. LOL (didn't about the health risks)

Why only a maximum of 24" on the monitor?
Simple. Anything bigger at 1080p will not look so sharp. You want to experience the clearest and sharpest image there is.
Sure i have played/tested on my 32 inch led 1080p tv games at high, very high settings (Bioshock Infinite,Skyrim,DA Inquisition, call of juarez gunslinger, Advanced Warfare, splinter cell blacklist,Injustice Gods Among Us etc) and i still think they look very good. But i am very easy to please, very very easy . I don't care so much about the fps (as long there is no lag that i can notice),i don't care about screen taring and many other things.

Also,i don't know about you,but for me anything bigger then 24 inch (i tired a 27 inch) is to much for a monitor. I have to be seated close so the images, font wont be to small to hurt my eyes but at the same time viewing angle has to be right as well.
At 1 meter distance from he monitor at 27 inch the viewing angle is to big for me.. I get a headache. Your eyes need to see the entire screen without having to stress.

Because of lack of money,we often want a monitor for daily applications and normal everyday routines, but at the same time we want a big display to look nice while we watch movies and play high settings games (with the highest refresh rate if possible). At some point we need to compromise, don't you think ?

Again i go back to my previous thoughts. In 2016 ,and later on with big titles that are very demanding, you will constantly have to readjust the settings (lower them) to get best playing experience. And while you are doing that ,the lower the settings , the more bad they will look on a bigger display.
For example ,Far Cry 3 for me on 1600x900 res on high settings looks good on my tv. If i play it on the monitor (24inch ips) it looks very good.
