Ok bridge the connections on pc2 and connect the ps3. If it's going to work the ps3 will be able to resolve it's own ip.

Umm basically im thinking you should share the connection on the first computer then on the second I think there is a option to have it assign an IP or not when you share the connection on it, so im thinking I will just act as a hub and get the IP from the first computer

OR buy a router...

ok just took a look, the Ethernet wire that goes from isp modem to back of host pc1, it says allowing sharing is check. the other local area connection shows no such option for sharing

on pc2 the local area connection i used to get online, allowed shared is also checked, havent reboot yet, so will cross my fingers

if this doesn't work, could i just unplug rj45 Ethernet cable from back of pc2 and plug it directly into ps3, to let u know ive tried this before it only it only work the one time

To make the bridge highlight both connections and then right click and select "bridge".

yes, that would be a god idea.

Buying a router is really the best option though.

i have a router, if all else fails i have no choice but to hook it up

... a router that works :)

of course man lol, its brand new its been used only a few times

hey manage to bridge both connection, still no go, shutting of ps3 for 5 mins, going to restart both comps, thanks for all the help

lol most likely tomorrow i will, i agree it should save me alot of hassle
