i'm looking for something like this: https://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=331
but with ventilation that goes from front to back, not side to side. the more mesh, the better.
my main concern is that it has to be 9" or shorter (laying on side) while length and depth should be around 17" or less. 8 or more drives, mix of 3.5" HDDs and 2.5" U.2 SSDs. not necessary to hot swap, no need for back plane.
right now i'm looking at some ATX cases that i can just lay on the side. but can't find the right size with good drive support and ventilation.
i'm going to use an ATX X399 motherboard and a threaripper 1920X in it. drives will be a mix of 7.68TB HGST SN200 U.2 SSDs and some 12TB red pro drives.
my current QNAP is running out of space and even with 10Gbps NICs isn't as fast as i'd like it to be.
