Yesterday I called Asus only to find out my favorite board is discontinued the Asus ProArt X570 Creator WIFI Motherboards what do I do? I'm looking for an ADM-compatible X570 board. Since I was just getting ready to install my Asus ProArt X570 Creator WIFI Motherboard with no real experience I'm wondering why was it discontinued. Was it a bad board, end of life or replaced by a more current board? The tech I talked to said, "I'm not trained in that area so I have no answer". I had both versions of the Asus Rampage and have nothing but excellent remarks for Asus. I need to replace my board this week. I'm Hopeful someone can help me select a motherboard:
Most important is:
AMD Ryzen 9 5950x
Windows 11 Pro 64bit Compatible
2-M.2
Thunderbolt 4
The ability to use a MATRIX-GTX980-4GD5 graphics card.

Asus would be nice but...
Bob

The board seems to still be in stock at most retailers and the Asus site doesn't seem to mention anything about it being discontinued be it the b550 or the x570 they just released the z690 variant so I would guess the line is continuing. Maybe the Asus rep you spoke too was confused or maybe they've just stopped production rather than discontinued.
Who knows but if that's the board you really want go grab one

That's intel.
Yes I just stated they only just released it so the line must be continuing I can see the x570 on Newegg and microless and pretty much every big retailer here in Asia. But it seems like supply chain issues and everything else going on in the world was enough for Asus to stop production maybe they didn't sell enough who knows.

Willing to pay a premium price for a used board?
$798

Or you can get a new one from Japan,
$644

You could go with the B550 version of that board,
$293

Or you could switch to Intel,
$479

The board you've got is a very niche item. Finding an exact replacement is going to be expensive.

AMD AM4 socket is EOL. My guess once it sells out, thats it.

If I recall correctly, and have not yet seen posted about: there are more than a few X570 and B550 boards compatible with their brand's thunderbolt add on cards. I'd imagine at least a couple options are still being sold new.
If the add-in cards aren't available new still, ebay is a good place to find just the TB expansion cards.

Except that the CPU's and chipsets are still in full production, so no, it's not EOL. It's doubtful if it will be until demand falls off, which will not happen until after AM5 products are released. Let's not spread misinformation, eh?
TBQH, I'm expecting AMD to sell AM4 and AM5 alongside each other for at least 1 full generation. If only to address availability across price segments.
It's not a new idea. I recall s478 and LGA775 being alongside each other, new.
I suppose it happens rather often; at least for a half gen, just from inventory in the logistical pipeline. Heck, I landed a BNIB s370 board and cooler off Newegg, when s939 Opterons and LGA775 Pentium D's were common.

Alright than lets call it my expert opinion :) Basically if a vendor does not think it will be able to sell another production run, its discontinued.

Why have ASUS discontinued it already, X570 is the latest AMD chipset, I feel for you as their creator boards are unique compared to the other ones they make. ASRock is probably your most likely replacement as they have similarities to the ASUS Creator boards.

My best guess is AM4 is coming down in production. All higher-end stuff had its 1,2,3 production runs and that is it. Fairly common.

I see them pumping the X570S and X570 Pro and Strix E boards as they are still making money. The Strix E is still $400 Canadian from the day it launched. That will probably last until the summer. That is definitely a niche board like the one they released for Workstations.
