I know most of us on here are after the fastest most extreme systems you can make/purchase.

On the other side of the extreme is low power computing and extreme portability. I just purchased a MSI Wind12 U230, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=msi_wind12_u230-_-34-152-160-_-Product , I have to say I am very pleased with this NetBook. I upgraded the memory to 4GB's of OCZ 2x2GB low latency memory. Also I am in the process of swapping out my SSD drive on my gaming rig for a faster one and putting the old one in this NetBook. With 4GB's of RAM and SSD I will also be installing Win 7 64 pro.

So any other NetBook owners? Would any one like to see some benchmarks? I am interested in seeing some benchmarks from other NetBook owners. Maybe if there is enough interest I can tally SuperPi, 3dMark06/Vantage/PCMark and battery life and post on this page. Not sure which tests I will run but open to any suggestions.

I just noticed there isn't a lot of good information out there on the net for netbooks and TPU has very little data on these excellent, low power, ultra-portable devices.

When my laptop had to get serviced, I bought an Acer Aspire One. Owning over 6 computers, I can easily say the netbook is my favorite, as it brings me back to when computers were simpler. I run XP on mine. I don't have a super fancy dual core processor, just a wimpy Atom. However, it allows me to watch movies fine, no lag, play some light games (mostly DOS games but whatever). There is no reason to go above the 1gb of ram, although I have plenty to install if need be. I bought mine for $200 shipped. It was not my first color choice, but it has grown on me. Super fast for what it does, performs every need except medium gaming, cause of course, any Steam game eats it alive. It has a 160gb HD. When that dies, I will replace it with an SSD in a heartbeat. In addition, I don't have to take my large laptop to the library to get work done, I can take a small netbook and use that. It is smaller than any of my textbooks and I forget I am carrying it sometimes. Great machine for the money.

BTW: 3 cell battery here lasts A LONG TIME watching movies.

I'm not a fan of netbooks. I want at least a 12" screen. And down at those sizes I would actully prefer something with a touchscreen.

I just bought an old Toshiba Portege 3500 that I hopefully can repair. It's a tablet (with the screen you tar turn around you know) based on Pentium 3, so it's enough for the things I want it to do. :D

The best part about humans is we adapt to things. I was used to a large screen too, and still prefer one, but if you use something long enough you will grow comfortable around it. A small screen is not as good as a bigger one, but still, I like have portability as an option.

Well it managed to scrape, crawl and fight it's way through 3dmark06! LOL.

Scored a earth shattering 1007 points!!

I'm just happy it could actually run it.

The screen on this is 12.1 so not as small as some of the smaller netbooks running 10 screens.

Also adding the 2x2GB kit increased my Windows Score for RAM from a 4.9 to a 5.7.

Think I will time a Hulu video in 720 on battery until it dies.
