Is anyone else like me and absolutely hates the way wifi routers and APs are marketed? Specifically how they combine all the speeds from each frequency and then claim that sum is the router's throughput? If I were an all powerful being, I'd make is so the manufacturers could only list the maximum, real life, bandwidth for a single cconnection, like how 5Ghz AC will only actually achieve a connection of 300Mbps to a single user (650Mbps theoretical).

Um, my cell phone can test out faster than 300mbps?? They advertise the combined speeds as you can combine the bands to get that speed. Maybe not exactly but just like you can't get 1Gbps out of a 1Gbps network card either. IP overhead and the such. Either way you should be able to get damn close with the right equipment. They also sell that equipment.

8 stream at $250, getting there but still need a lot more competition and options for Wi-Fi 6.

Um, my cell phone can test out faster than 300mbps?? They advertise the combined speeds as you can combine the bands to get that speed. Maybe not exactly but just like you can't get 1Gbps out of a 1Gbps network card either. IP overhead and the such. Either way you should be able to get damn close with the right equipment. They also sell that equipment.

I get 1Gbit out of my PC all the time. 125/MByte/s transfers to and from a NAS all day long.
