New build idle ok but small load - gets hot

Thanks, @QuietBob - Shop opens in just over an hour. I'll be marching in with both sticks (They came as a pair - bought this time last week) and getting a like-for-like replacement. Looks like sticking to 6200Mhz is OK, as the system is testing out fine on the one good stick.

And thanks so much @AusWolf for your support! It really made it a lot easier and more fun then sitting here alone stewing about a rebooting PC. :) Thanks for all the help and effort. I'll report once I have the new sticks in. Thanks!

Two new stick of memory in. Same speed. 6200Mhz. memTest86 run and all was good. System running smoothly now. Relief.

Glad to be of help. :)

To be honest, I was almost sure that your motherboard was bad, because memory errors are a bit rare these days, and I've dealt with so many bad motherboards recently. Nice to see it was a more simple case. :)
