i estimate it should be around 9k after taxes. i live in Ottawa, Canada and i have a business partner in Bogotá; which is where this computer is going.

I inertially was going to order the parts to Ottawa then assemble the system and ship it, but it might be easier to ship the parts to Colombia and have it assembled there.

there is a local computer store, pccyber; that would be able to order all the parts. is there another location that would allow me to buy them online then have them shipped to Colombia?

thanks

a 1000w psu is not going to run that system, you will need atleast a 1500w or more psu

gtx 480 is 275 watts x3 = 825watt

980i x2- 270watt

300watts for rest of components puts me at 1395watts....an Antec 1200watt psu should hold that down

Good day to you! I just noticed that you are gonna be using a SR-2 MB from EVga and an Intel Core i7 980x? I just saw this article and I think SR-2 only supports Xeon processors.

My mistake here! The EVGA board can run those new core i7 980x's! That Techspot article is probably old and outdated! Here's new proof!:slap:

With all that high-end hardware and the money it will cost I'd still take Mustang's advice and go for a 1500W.

I agree with BP and Mustang. If you really push those 480s they can draw in excess of 300W each. You may actually want to consider getting 2 power supplies for all that hardware.

nothing will be overcloked...i knoe, what a waist but because of the technical know how of the end user, no overclocking.

in terms of psu's, the only 1500watt is thermaltake....there is a silverstone but im iffy on its quality. i shy away from thermaltake by nature but if thats a psu that u guys are recommending then its it.

I think a Corsair HX1000W (for the GPU's) and a HX650W (for the rest) would suit this build well. No need for two expensive kilowatters when you only need one. The only problem would be finding a quality case that can hold 2 PSU's. I know Silverstone has a very nice flagship case that can, also the HAF 932 can when you take out the top fan.
