I am currently building a new computer with these current specs:

1. MSI 890GXM-G65 AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

2.Rosewill RV2-700 700W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V SLI Ready Power Supply

3.CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

4.Thermaltake V3 Black Edition VL80001W2Z Black SECC / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

5.HITACHI Deskstar 7K1000.C HDS721010CLA332 (0F10383) 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

6.AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDE00ZFBGRBOX

I'm trying to find a graphics card(or two depending on price) that will use as much of my computers potential as possible with a price of around $100-$180 per graphics card. Open to all suggestions. Thank you for your time and help!

Probably ATi based, since mobo support Crossfire. And judging by budget, I think get a 6950, sit back and enjoy until you decide that you need another. 2x6870 is also good, but then you will not get the option of crossfiring 6950.

Okay, i have a question though. My motherboard has 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots. The only 6950 i can find are PCI-E 2.1. Is that compatible with my motherboard or do i need to find a 2.0?

Don't worry about that, they are all compatible. PCIe 2.1 comes with some features of PCIe 3.0 and that's it. Think of PCIe as USB, you can use USB2.0 on USB3.0 etc.

Edit: Damn, cheesy999 is jobless too.

Uhh, you were lucky because there were jobless people around, and your question is pretty easy to answer. For more obscure questions, it slows down quite a bit, and if you ask questions which hints of fanboyism, it gets ugly fast. This is still a very good site though :)

it would b mid range card
btw what would you use? gaming, all around
i usually take 128 bit or more, 1 gig ram and since some card come in reference design i prefer custom layout coz some it performs better than reference
6xxx series is pretty nice
