New CPU HSF problems

Recently my HSF died so I replaced it with a Scythe Katana III (which IMO so far, isn't a terribly good HSF but its better than stock) the problem is that it seems my motherboard isn't detecting it because, its working (about 34 celcius on idle according to speedfan) but everytime I turn the thing on it says theres a problem with the HSF. Is there an actual problem I'm missing or is there a way for my motherboard to stop giving me this message?

I misread, the boot up screen for the PC says there is a CPU fan error?

At boot it should be full speed, so RPM shouldnt be an issue.

Your fan is probably not spinning fast enough, most motherboards require the CPU fan to run at a certain RPM on bootup or else it'll throw you that error.

I don't exactly know how to fix it, I'm sure someone here knows the exact feature you need to disable in the BIOS.

its going about 950-1000rpm which isn't great for a 92mm but its what I'd consider pretty 'normal'

see if you can go into your bios and up the speed on the fan to cool and stop giving you errors

Wow, that was incredibly simple. :banghead: I guess this is what I get for over thinking the problem in the first place. Thanks. :toast:
