Looks like the next gen DX12 graphics cards can't come soon enough. ;)

Notice how SLI / CrossFire makes absolutely no difference to performance. Clearly the game doesn't support it or there's a glitch.

The diversity in scenery and the way it was expertly paired with an impeccable attention to detail makes Forza Horizon 3 by far the most visually impressive and immersive game in the series yet. However, as hardware testers around the web have already managed to figure out, it did come at a considerable performance cost. The game, while manages to be visually satisfying, also manages to be disappointingly punishing even on extremely high-end PCs.

Fury X is slower than RX 470 @ Ultra 1080p but faster in 4K (High) again compared to RX 470. I hope it has a DX11 mode too, it's yet another bad implementation of DX12 it seems.

How convenient to not include AMD's current flagship RX 480 product... Also that rubbish SLI/Crossfire scaling...

Oh lets not forget this game has a streaming issue with AMD cards aka momentary pauses as it loads in data to the GPU at various intervals for many users as well. Just another broken AAA release.

Yet another game that doesn't support SL/CF and doesn't implement DX12 multi-adapter. Why even bother?

Bummer. I got 780 Ti as well and it would seem scaling sucks here for Kepler :./ I wanted to try the game but for now I guess I will skip and wait maybe there's some updates or something. 960 surpasses my 780 TI what a disgrace :./

Didn't Nvidia show a Forza DX12 PORT Tech Demo 2years ago using Kepler. I would have expected DOOM like lead given what they said then, atleast in this title.

Nvidia said:
our software team has provided a driver to game studios to facilitate further design feedback as well as actual game development.

Looks like just another DX11 to DX12 Port.

I think over a year ago lots of folks were saying all AAA titles will be DX12 by this time. Well, so far they've mostly been a mess or poorly coded or badly ported DX11 efforts.
DX11 is dead, long live DX11!

Again, I can't use DX12 until I upgrade to W10...

Game developers are going to do the minimal possible as long as the majority base has DX11 hardware. What incentive do they have to invest the money on re-writing the engine. Heck UE is still in DX12 experimental stage going on 3years.

And there's almost a cyclical problem with that. I have no reason to upgrade my PC to a new OS as I still see my PC performing well so without a massive push (what MS is trying to do but failing at) why should I invest? I can see MS trying to mothball W7 as soon as it can. Force people like me to jump but then the problem is with corporate and business users adapting with entrenched legacy software.

Then there's a hardware issue. I wont buy a current Pascal product and AMD has nothing to tempt until Vega. I also think it would be foolish for me to spend inflated prices on a Pascal card that might get bettered by a Vega card in 'x' months time.

Even BF1 is DX11 base with DX12 option.

Consumers. Like noted above your post and some outspoken members here. Consumers want progress but depending on their purchase they are willing to hold out in DX11 longer because its just as good. Although reverse that stance and you have an issue.

Consumers can drive progress towards DX12 if they choose to but if they are satisfied with DX12 Ports game studios and publishers can stall as long as they like until they see its profitable for them to make such a move. Consumers can also attribute to its slow adaptation by feeding into that trend and continuing to stay and purchase DX11 base products.

A GTX 960 that's on par with a GTX 670 is besting a 780Ti?

GG not worth the cash.

Also don't forget people that programming for dx12 is very hard compared to dx11. They are still collecting experience it will be better over time. Was really the same with dx11. But I fear it will be worse this time because dx12 is more complex.

@Kanan Just because you use outdated hardware doesn't make the game bad or poorly coded. It just means that games have moved on so you need to upgrade.

Kwality personal attack there too.

You are outdated too. Kepler is okay in every dx12 game besides this shit - so your point is very wrong I'm afraid.

I hope this had more quality.

Yes, the article said that it eats resources for breakfast, hence the graph I posted showing the low framerates. I can't look at the video right now.

I have a GTX 1080. How am I outdated? You've also conveniently missed the point that if you have outdated hardware it's not the game's fault, but yours.

Also, don't forget that the better the graphical realism, the slower it will run and this looks almost photoreal.

I see a metric tonne of pop in all over the place TBH.

Reminds me of my Skyrim except my FPS drop in Skyrim is justified lol.

And that's the GTX 670 (960 par GPU)
