Hi All,

Is it wise to buy Titan Xp now? Should I wait for Volta? When can we expect it? or should I just buy the Titan Xp? I am gaming on 2K @144Hz.

For gaming there is no point getting the Titan XP, since many 1080Ti are already as fast or faster out of the box.
If you manage OC the TitanXP to the same clocks it will still only be slightly faster than a 1080Ti.

Taking in account the current GPU prices, Xp is for 1150USD while 1080 Ti is for 1600 USD

That is true, in that case might as well get some Star Wars bling out of it. :roll:

Technically Volta is already here. At this rate, there might even be a time when the Titan V is a price / performance choice lol.

Believe it or not, out of stock already xD, due to so small amounts and that GPU cost nVidia a lot to produce.

Believe it or not, I had my Zotac GTX1080 Mini New for 470USD, sold it used yesterday for 875USD!!! now I am confused what to do... :/

I wanted to buy a GTX 1080 Ti to be frank, but it's now for 1600USD I guess, so I am getting a Titan Xp SW Edition, 9-11% better and for 1138USD, I know this sounds so crazy for GPU prices but this is the current situation, it's like paying 790USD from my side and getting a Titan XP, not bad at all I would say specially the jump from 1080 to Titan Xp is Big.

It never has been, never will be, and sure as hell isn't right now. Paying top dollar for a 1 year old GPU that was already heavily overpriced at release... worst idea. 1150 USD is still too much in terms of perf/dollar

I admit it but look at it this way, I sold the 875USD for a GTX1080, I bought the Titan Xp for 1150USD and the GTX 1080 Ti is no where to find but on EBay and only for 1650$+, taking the ongoing situation in hands about GPU industry, Titan Xp is a very solid choice now thanks to miners.

While the card (Titan XP) is older, I do not feel the math works against you.
If I am reading this right, you got the 1080 for $470 (initial investment), made a killing when you sold it, and now are looking at a card at $1150. When I did all the match, a Titan XP for $745 (total investment on your part) does not seem like a bad deal at all. Hell that is what I was paying for top tier 980's when they released!

The only reasonable way i see is buying two previous gen. cards and making a strong SLI out of them. With prices crazy on current gen. cards those are on sale, they are not exactly that high on previous gen. high end cards, those are out of shelves. You realize that two GTX980 cards is the same as GTX1080, and two GTX980 Ti are the same as GTX1080 Ti?! Would that be enough for you? That is the way to make a powerfull setup and save money until prices will drop in 2019.

Difficult to say...the amount of power draw and also the amount of generated heat it's a BIG downside, also the lack of SLI optimisations adds a lot to the mix...for now the best thing to do is endure and have patience hoping that everything will come back to normal in a few months
