 I wonder what the highest config will cost???? considering it says "upto 18 cores" and "upto 22 Teraflops GPU power" and on that note, what's the current Teraflops rating for the likes of the 1080Ti/Titan X edit: I see the 1080ti is 11 teraflops meaning, I'm assuming anyway, will be dual 1080ti's and I see no mention of Vega anywhere

Edit +1: I see it in the apple link halfway down the page, my bad, maybe apple know something we don't?

People still buy Mac pro's brand new from apple with ivy bridge chips and 7950's. Don't tell me you really think the most profitable company on earth knows less than you. Let me repeat that one more time most profitable company on earth. This isn't a joke, these will easily sell and anyone who thinks people wont by an X299 based iMac with a vega card in it regardless of price should probably go back to their junk android device that they replace every 6 months with no resale value and cry.

They're not profitable from their mac line - and I still have 3 old macbook pro's in my closet. I know this isn't a joke - you need to simmer down a little.

The value of the mac and mac pro line is a serious pain point right now for many mac power users and many of them have switched over to PCs for their work. Sales of their mac-book pro line have been stagnant even through the updates and the prices have been skyrocketing.

Don't tell me you really think the most profitable company on earth knows less than you. Let me repeat that one more time most profitable company on earth.
Never said that... I just think it's a bad product. My opinion - maybe your airbuds can make you feel better.

What is bad about an AIO with an 8-18 core cpu and a real graphics card? The reason most have left them in "pro" is the unrealistic color space you work in. Most studios run PC because of that alone. That being said regular users like simple, dumb, powerful and functional. Apple meets and exceeds in all those metrics. The new MBP's have their issues, but they still don't stay in stock...

I also have an android phone and I am so tired of them as of late. 3 phones in 6 months kinda gets to you.

I was following Paul Thurrots live commentary yesterday, laughing my ass off, because of the stupid rethoric and marketing Apple uses. That's about the only thing that interests me: iWatch and iLaugh :D

Yes, Apple is the most profitable brand on earth but also, has the largest offshore, tax avoiding cash reserve. Also heavily utilises foreign labour under awful conditions. Sells to a cult market demographic. Other companies do the same but Apple's success is all about sleek and subversive marketing, coupled with 'good' products. Not the best, 'good'. But yes, these things will sell but @cdawall's point about android phones, Android spans a larger device field and that means necessarily poorer build in cheaper phones.
I've bought android (because I wouldnt buy Apple at Apple prices way back) since it began. Never had a bad phone because i always bought a 'good' model. I know ther are issues ocassionally but then, Apple have the same. What I do notice is that where I live, the BBC is very pro Apple. Apple just has to fart and someone praises the new Apple 'air biscuit'.

The reason AMD is inside the product is also cost. AMD are cheaper to put inside, Nvidia don't need Apple's money (and it's not about bumpgate either).

Well said but this model is unfortunately copied by more and more companies as it is a recipe for ""success" and better said money

I get that you're trying to make/prove a point, but Saudi Aramco is the most profitable company on the face of this planet. Lemme repeat that, ARAMCO is the most powerful/rich/profitable company in the world o_O

Android isn't restricted to one manufacturer unlike the iPhone which is only made by Apple so categorizing Android as a singular entity or comparing it to an iPhone isn't really a fair comparison, I've had Android phones from most of the top companies (Samsung, Sony, HTC)-and their flagship phones are as good as and better in some cases than iPhones. The Apple fans, in this case cdawall will claim Android is inferior, buggy, not as good etc, well that's Apple's marketing working just as they intended, it's a designer brand that people will buy and sing it's praises regardless of what the actual product is or how it performs..

And regarding using vega, if it was purely a cost thing wouldn't they have gone with ryzen also?

Flagship phones from Samsung and LG? Not a cheap phone person. Point was Apple knows how to make a product and a profit. I can't tell you the last time I saw a fully functional HP AIO from 2010, plenty of iMacs of that generation still in use. Apple isn't cheap there is a reason for that.

"upto 22 Teraflops GPU power" and on that note, what's the current Teraflops rating for the likes of the 1080Ti/Titan X edit: I see the 1080ti is 11 teraflops meaning, I'm assuming anyway, will be dual 1080ti's and I see no mention of Vega anywhere

Edit +1: I see it in the apple link halfway down the page, my bad, maybe apple know something we don't?

I heard some of the podcast about the hyper announcement and about Vega it's, 11Tflps full precision 8/16 Gb of high bandwidth at a {gazillion( don't recall} Ghz, but they said "it's also 1/2 precision of 22Tflps, and "you cant get that from any other maker". " Combine this with our 5K screen" and so on. Plus they were saying that it "has the fastest I/O of any machine made because of the chipset and screaming xxGb storage along with the newest Thunderbolt and again available up to 128Gb ECC Ram"

It's really sounding like a super high end machine for the Mac users that wont need to Hackintoch now.
So start with 8 cores, up to 128Gb ECC ram, a full Vega, 5K screen, fastest I/O on the market.

So just what is a "full Vega not a crippled one" and this "1/2 floating precision not available anywhere else?

This isn't a joke, these will easily sell and anyone who thinks people wont by an X299 based iMac with a vega card in it regardless of price should probably go back to their junk android device that they replace every 6 months with no resale value and cry.
I'm happy with Android phones, the money I save not buying over priced Apple crap allows me to replace them if needed and still have change.
