I have come up with my own specs and own choice because I was really on the mood to do some research again about these stuff (cause it's almost been a year since I ever bought a hardware).. Im not very good at these anymore so I need advice :ohwell:

Build: Gaming

Specs:
CoolerMaster Storm Enforcer
Intel Core i5 2500k- unlocked multiplier
8GB Vengeance (Z8GX3M2A 1600C9/B) 2x4
40GB Corsair F40 Force Series SSD
1.5TB WD Black 64mb 7200RPM
Lite-On 24x IHAS-224/524 Sata LS/LT
MSI N560GTX-Ti OC 2GB DDR5 Twin Frozr
Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620w Modular
CoolerMaster V8 CPU cooler
Asrock P67 Extreme 4 (or is Asus P8P67-M Xfire/S/GL better?)

Price: PhP 56,000 // USD 1,290 // CAD 1,315

*the asus i chose is $46 dollars cheaper than the asrock i chose.

This is geared towards gaming? an upgrade would be an intel 4c/8t or greater coming from that i5. I think you should just do a video card upgrade and not migrate to a totally different platform just yet. Maybe a Xeon X3440 (i7 8xx variant this would give a boost in multitasking but not much) on cpu, a gtx570 go 560ti 448 core, + the Corsair you chose.

Thank you very much for replying. :)
What's a 4c/8t? Xeon?
and
What video card should I upgrade to?

**I updated my specs (lowered clocks, and made everything specific)

I see you edited your post..
May I ask, is that Xeon a quad-core, or 6-core? and would the GTX560ti (&the xeon) not bottleneck on my motherboard?

4 core 8 thread.

You missed the edit. 560Ti 448 core. 2x4GB and the Corsair as mentioned. Skip on the hard drive and go with a larger SSD.

Got it.

I do have some questions about the SSD. All I know about the SSD is that it has 3x(?) more speed than HDDs. That is because it has no moving parts and it wont break easily if you drop it by accident.. but Why do you recommend on a larger SSD? is 500GB enough? (forgot to mention, im a gamer, but i also animate a little)

500GB is more than enough if you're not doing massive media storage & need a plethora of games installed(15+). Larger SSD to allow more programs to be installed to it giving faster access to that data, the games you don't need stupid fast acces because it really only effects loading time.

I was thinking that as a gaming/overclock rig the PSU should be larger than 620w; closer to 750w.

Also better cpu cooler than V8.

I suppose 500GB is enough.. But once I almost got it full with games. (I have like 33, but only 10-20 installed)But when my younger cousins Play "The Sims 3" which requires Faster reading times (in my current rig It lags when trying to go to other places)

Corsair 750w modular it is!

What do you recommend? Liquid or Air?

As far as cooling goes, I think Air would be fine but I don't know what your Daytime Temps, high and lows, are for your part of the world.

You would be the best judge with that regard. You mentioned "Budet"... Also, some Air cooling seems to keep pace with some of the lesser liquid options, so unless you want to spend more...

Actually I saw a few vids on youtube.. He has the 2600k, an ssd, and gtx580. and sims 3 doesn't lag one bit.

It's very hot here in the Philippines. Especially on noon and the after noon. How much would heat would there be if it's summer? Also my room is on the 2nd floor, and is on the side of the road where thousands of vehicles go on that road for a day. But I am also thinking WILL the liquid you put on a water cooler heat up because of the weather? Does that affect the cooling?

My advice:
CASE - Corsair Carbide 400R [same price CM Storm, but better]
CPU - 2500k [good choice for gaming]
MB - Asus P8Z68/Pro/Deluxe
RAM - 8GB Vengeance 1600/CL9 [good]
SSD - 40GB Corsair F40 [good]
HDD - 500GB it´s good enough for storage
GPU - Gainward GeForce GTX570 [same price as the 560Ti 2GB, but better]
PSU - Corsair TX750/AX750
Cooler - Corsair H80/H100

Thanks! Z68 it is, but just wondering what can it do that the asus p67/ asrock p67 can't?

Yeah I know that but worth it for such an old game and only that one?

Just saying, if you wish to do a full rebuild go ahead, just giving you what I see I mean just friendly advice my man! ;)

EDIT:

Hell from talking to some end uers of Sandy bridge cpu's they only overclock for e-peen & stock suits their needs just fine so if you want to be cheap could go an i5 2400 + H6x and it would still "feel faster".

Oh yeah, I never realized that. mehe. But there is also one issue on games.. On my system, "Saint's Row - The Third" lags on High setting and I'm pretty disappointed because my system can run BF3, MW3, Arkham City, AC Revelations, and pretty much any game, on high settings. Would the 448 Core 560 upgrade do pretty well?

I am still on the side of what to do whether to build a new system or update mine. What does e-peen mean? and what do you mean by "Feel faster" ? Does it have almost the same performance as the 2500k?

"Feel faster" meaning the improved IMC bandwith with it being an updated revision of the Core i family. Unsure what the issue is on 3rd Row, might be due to needing more vram, have yet to try that game on my own rig. I do know MW3 has no problem with maxed out @ 1080p 4x AA.

It sounds like liquid is the way to go.

All items will heat up to ambient room temperature, so if your room is 100 Fahrenheit, and stays that way, then any object in the room would eventually reach that temperature. 100 degree F air is hot air, so air cooling may be limited.

I think the lag issue of the SR the third on my system is that it needs more power. idk if from the cpu or the card. but I have the 70% assurance that it is on the card. my card (ATI) tends to heat up faster than normal (maybe cause of room / location temp)

It sounds like liquid is the way to go. All items will heat up to ambient room temperature, so if your room is 100 farenheight, and stays that way, then any object in the room would eventually reach that temperature. 100 degree F air is hot air, so air cooling may be limited.

Is there any cheap cooling remedy (air or liquid)? is Antec 620 good? I like corsair tho
