I almost bought an ASUS monitor, I've heard nothing but good things about them. I honestly think LG's are rather overated and overly expensive, but to each his own I suppose. I would go with the ASUS personally.

The seller wrote me that the Asus's front panel buttons are damaged (volume control).
Therefore I'll choose LG. But which: LG W2053tq-pf or LG w2242t ?

You should look at my thread. The ASUS I have is brand new, and it looks like it fits your needs. I'm selling it quite a fair bit cheaper than retail, I just want to get it off my hands. Check it out.

This one, because it's LED and before disassembling it I had a chance to see it in action. And believe me, the colors look incredibly rich. It looks great.
