Hi,
I currently have a q6600 G0 on an asus P5B E Plus.
Its running completly stable at 440 x 8 or 3.52Ghz. I've just bought a quad so if my testing methods sound wrong please tell me how it should be done.
Tested this setting by running Prime95 overnight which was just over 9 hours. Highest core temp was 69 degrees C.
Now, i have tried setting the Q6600 at a higher clock and it simply won't budge. Tried everything. More volts, slacker ram timmings so on.
My question is do you think i may be limited by the old P965 chipset?
I have been meaning to get a new motherboard and i think maybe the Asus Maximus Formula X38.
Will i see an improvement with this board and is this a decent board????
Any help would be great cheers.
