LOL ya, I got my 21-22" CRT  My buddy's work was throwing old computer parts away and this big beefy caught my eye...it's lovely lol...they also threw away a Mac G3 and a Mac G4 with OSX and like $700 worth of imaging programs on it...guess who's got those now too :p

This thing consumes my desk :p I thought you all would get a kick out of a giant CRT monitor lol.

oh ya, that's an old Mac keyboard too :D It's pretty nice :D

You do not impress me. I have a 24" CRT at home, that thing weights a friggin ton

You made a good catch with those macs and the programs tho. Lucky bastard. I'm waiting since ages that my dad recicles one of his old Macs so that I can get my hands on them. But them damn things still work without problems..

LOL, seems so... old.

Seriously though, can't beat the contrast ratio or response time.

Does it have a DVI connector?

haha yeah, I had to get my bf to pick this big bastard up and put it on my desk. No strain on the eyes, just pure beautiful screen. Sadly, I can't play Oblivion at 1600x1200 with 4xAA lol, I get like 30FPS outside (got 130 mods going too). Still godly at 1280x1024, it's so big :D

yeah, the Macs still work..they are pretty old...one has 512MB of RAM it lol that musta been pretty nice back then. haha the G4 has a 486 in it! I'm keeping one of them just for all the Photoshop programs.

lol no DVI connector atleast I have like 20 of those adapters :p I live in an old style studio apartment with a space to stow away a bed. We have a sleeper sofa so under there we keep a lot of crap. 3/4 of it is motherboards and RAM from the late 80s-90s that my bf collects and dismantled 90s computers  Always have extra IDE HDDs and CD-ROMs  Damn space is at it's breaking point...I don't know why the bf collects all this old stuff. but he wonders why I collect Japanese stuff :p

the first monitor I've ever used was 14" crt, after that moving to a 17" LCD was night and day. Moving to 22" LCD was not surprising to me but a better wide view is great.

:D old computer stuff is awesome. I'm thinking of giving the G3 to my dad lol...he's got a old Gateway with a Pentium III and 256MB of RAM, and god does it run like CRAP. He's so computer illiterate though...and I don't feel like teaching him MacOS  He was all amazed when I made a box to highlight a whole bunch of stuff

good job on salvaging the macs. I almost want to say thank you as it PAINS me to hear when people throw out things like that LOL.

I mean I would never buy a mac, but I would definitely keep it from a dumpster if it was in good working condition. Is it really so hard for these companies to make a drive out to their nearest salvation army?

Absolutely. I hang on to my two 19" CRT monitors for dear life. They've both got high quality Diamondtron flat-face tubes and can dispay a 2048x1536 desktop with excellent colour quality.

UT3 with AA/AF & other quality settings maxed out at this resolution and doing a solid 60fps vsync locked looks jaw-dropping. :rockout:

Please see my system specs for hardware that can do this. And it didn't cost the earth, either.

hehe, the boyfriend has the eye for this kinda stuff ;) This thing is pretty nice, the clarity is just stunning and the colour quality is excellent :)

Anytime our friend's work is throwing away computers, he tells us and we go pillage :p. He works for a screen printing company, so they always have these nice Macs or Dells for their company. We got my last monitor from him :) He said there were 30 of those exact same monitors they were throwing away :( They should of just gave them to the local thrift stores here...
