Legit copy:
Step 1: Install
Step 2: Get a Ubi account
Step 3: Login to Ubi
Step 4: Enjoy the game and pray hard that internet doesn't crap on you
Step 5: Save (takes forever because internet connection is slow)

Pirated
Step 1: Install
Step 2: Install the pirating bit
Step 3: Enjoy without any worries
Step 4: Save

Now then, who can point to me which one is the better option of the two assuming all else is equal?

If we can switch the two around and make legit software as easy to run as the current pirated games, then I can assure every game developer that their profits will rise.

You mean:

Pirated
Step 1: Find Pirated version.
Step 2: Download (which takes far longer than all the waiting for saving would take if your internet connection truly is slow)
Step 3: Scan downloaded copy with anti-virus.
Step 4: Install and pray hard that it isn't virus infected
Step 5: Install the pirating bit and pray some more that it isn't a virus
Step 6: Enjoy with above worries
Step 7: Save

And of course you don't have to even worry about malware if your source is reputable. If you aren't using reputable sources you shouldn't even be trying. There are sources that can Max your connection no matter what it is, as fast as a Steam download. At least that is what I've heard ;)

I guess it is going to get to the point soon that honest users have to buy a copy retail and then download the pirated version in order to use the product as it should be. DRM is a lose lose situation for all involved even if they don't see it yet. The studios have to pay to use the DRM that is usually created by another company. I would rather have more of the dollars that I spend on a game go to a programmer, a musician, etc, than to some fat cat to help pay for his yacht. Corporate Greed didn't use to be a part of video games.
