PCP&C Silencer 750w is on it's way to me! I couldn't wait, so paid the extra for saturday delivery, and booked the day off work!

I need to 1. Register for the HWBot team, and 2. Do some benchin!!! :rockout:

congrats and all that infared, but you cant expect to get that much more of a oc from your thermaltake 680w can you ?

yep, because on the 680 the caps on the cpu rail are nakkered, so i can't go above 1.55v without the psu screwing up and restarting. Tomorow i get to use the full 1.7v

Anyway, i'm going to sleep, can't wait til mornin.

Nice, i would of gotten the 750 but i just didnt need that much power. i got the 610. I will only be running a single 8800gts/gtx will prolly never go to SLI. Its a nice psu

it lives up to its name of "silent", i cant hear mine (not over all the other noisy crap i got atleast)

WTF... the psu doesn't seem to be the prob after all... It still restarts when i go 1.58v+...

Bad cpu/mobo? I suppose i could slot my e6400 back in and crank up the volts and see what happens.

My board and chip deosn't seem to like anything past 1.625, but I get BSODs, not restarts.

Although using Core Temp causes random restarts for me.

Download the coretemp 0.95.5 beta. Stops the bsod's

Core Temp doesn't BSOD my system. It makes it flat out shut off. No warning what so ever, just bam!, and off.

i had mine bench at 1.57vcore,darent go higher in case i blew my wonderful 6300.

I'm wandering if this is a thermal cut-off on the cpu. Watching CoreTemp carefully, when i run orthos. Both cores slowly work up to about 68c, then i get an instant restart.

68c... because i havn't lapped the cpu yet, warm ambients, and high volts.

Just to test this theory, is anyone else here comfortable with pushing the temps that high to see if theirs does it too?

hmmm, not that. Reduced the volts, and it just did the same at 59c =/ I don't understand this.

I'll put my e6400 back in later and see if it's a motherboard prob or cpu prob.

my e6600 have seen 75 degree till now@ 4.1gig (just for benching)

so this isnt quite normal.

For me to get it ORTHOS stable I have to up all my volts to the max to get the OC in my specs. but not the mem but everything else and temps get to to the 60C-68C on load

Infrared, try NOT using Core Temp. A lot of people are having trouble with it. Tho, I haven't heard it from an Intel guy yet. I pulled my hair out the first week of owning my 6000+. I tought is was my psu as well, but then I thankfully stumbled on a post about it in another forume. Quit using Core Temp, and shut off the thermal monitoring in Orthos, and all was well.
