New Router Recomendations

Ok, I have a friend who wants a new router for his family. I don't know for sure, but I would guess there are about 4 desktops and 4 laptops. He said that price wasn't a concern and that he was just looking for the best. These people won't be tweakers, so no need for fancy firmwares and such. Just a very very good router.

He suggested this. You can tell that he's ok with spending a lot plus I don't know how that model fares with the competition.

I did a search and the only alternative I could come up with up is this.

So, what's a good high-end router?

I like my Netgear router, but have heard other people have trouble with them. So maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. *shrugs*

Good ol' reliable WRT54GL...

When you throw out that line, thats the response I give :P

I was hoping to get Gigabit ethernet as well as 802.11n. I've seen your recomendation to add a Gigabit switch and 802.11n AP to the WRT54GL, but for simplicity's sake, I'd rather have one box.

You want the best router available?
Not exactly. (But that setup looks sweet!) I should rephrase what I'm looking for.

I need a new router. I'm a typical average internet user. (email, browsing, youtube, gaming, etc) I have about 4 desktops and 4 laptops in the house. I want something really good so I won't be dealing with alot of crap. So because of this, I'm willing to pay to get it. (~$150 or less) And I'm a non-technical person so I want something with very little to zero setup. What do you guys suggest?

Routers currently on the table:
Linksys E3000
Linksys WRT54GL
D-Link DIR-655 - leaning towards this one.

Yep, I highly recommend this router too.

Gigabit ethernet, Wireless N, Very good Range and speed and lots of good settings configs.
