Hi everyone...

Well, i'm new to the forum despite reading TPU for quite some time, and saw that you guys are really nice to new folks with doubts about their builds (different from Brazilian forums).

So i came here to ask a few things about a new build i'm about to do... :p

System Specs:

Corsair Graphite Series 600T White Edition
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H WB WiFi
Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB 1866MHz
Intel i7-3770K
Corsair H100
2x MSI GTX670 Power Edition 2GB (even with that overvoltage problem,) OR 2x Sapphire Dual-X HD7970
OCZ Vertex 4 256 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache 3.5''
Corsair TX850 V2 PSU
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit

Main use:
Gaming (lots of it) - New 2560x1600 monitor arriving... want to play everything at max and overclock the cards (not much, tho).
Few video editing (school projects, short films on 1080p). Mainly working with Sony Vegas, but i intend to use Adobe After Effects soon.
Browsing (obviously)...

So, my doubts are:

1)After Catalyst 12.11, should i get a HD7970 or a GTX670? The gaming experience will change a lot between those cards? In Brazil, the price difference is like $30. And i can't decide what to buy.

2) I'll be able to do a push/pull configuration with H100 and the 600T? Already heard about some Corsair cases that don't have enough space to do push/pull because the motherboard gets too close to the cooler.

3) The 1866MHz Dominator Platinum will run fine with my UD5H? I did not find any compatibility issues with those two.

Thank you very much for taking your time to answer my n00b questions
And if wasn't for all the reviews here on TPU and all the members discussions, i probably wouldn't know s**t about what i intend to buy.

Sorry if you think this is spam or in any way offensive, but posts like these look to me like just bragging. "look at my new rig lol"

Not bragging at all. I didn't buy any parts, have some doubts (n00b ones)... why do you think i'm bragging about it?

And it's certainly not offensive. LOL :)

I don't see any issue with the build.

I'd go for the 7970 cards for thier 3 gb of RAM and you using a 2560*1600 monitor.

Not sure about the push/pull config fitting in the case, but I don't think you'll need it with a H100. Push/pull on my h60 keeps my 2600k OC'ed at 4.2ghz around 70'c at full load. Pretty sure your H100 with just stock fans is better than my pull/pull H60.

Oh, and btw, this is a computer tech/enthusiasts web site, BRAG AWAY DUDE.

Just that I've seen quite a few threads like these. Plus it looks quite obvious to me that everything in your setup looks just perfect and I couldn't tell why anyone would ask such questions about it :wtf: anywho. Looks perfect to me. Great choice overall.
If the 7970's are non-stock (with aftermarket coolers like asus or msi etc), I'd certainly have them instead of the 670s just because of the new driver.

Well, you know... a n00b is a n00b. Despite reading a lot about hardware.

Thank you very much!

LOL! But really doesn't make too much sense bragging about a PC around here. I bet there's some guys with monster watercooled setups around here that certainly have the right to brag about it.

Well, just did some research about the H100.

It's really complicated to mount a push/pull configuration with the 600T. Fans will probably hit the RAM's.... one solution would be thinner fans, but that doesn't seem very effective.

I'll look at some SP120 fans...

I live in the south, so humidity is a bit higher than normal. We're on "summer" now, so it's kind of hot but i have a air-conditioner in my bedroom. Variation of 19º to 24º C.

Ok thats 66-75 degrees F right there. if it goes to 80 F with fans you will notice a speed/noise increase with a factory heatsink.

I think that i've already got the advices i needed to. Cooler and graphics card doubts at least...

Guess that a moderator can "shut down" the topic now.

Thanks!

Well... for those that gave me advices and want (or wanted) to follow through my build: I decided to purchase Noctua NF-F12 for the H100.

Could not find a better solution, and after reading a lot of reviews looks like that these NF-F12 fans are really reliable.
