is that going to be a download game? noticed episode 1, and erm, it kind of looked more like it was a small download game than a full disc game

Meh, Sonic is one of those classic video game characters than didn't age well. Sega release so much Sonic crap after the Genesis days.

I agree. They say this will be good because its going back to the 2D roots. But I think its too little, too late.

Depends what the target audience is. I doubt it is aimed for those adults now who grew up with Sonic back in the day.

Seriously, they're still calling the boss "eggman"? Dr Robotnik was and remains a 10x better name for him. The air dash from Sonic Unleashed here makes the game seem a ton easier than on the Genesis versions.

Still, I'm glad to see Sonic return to a side scrolling adventure. This will be an Xbox Live Arcade/PSN game, right? If not, these graphics suck (although for some reason they tickle my nostalgic fancy). I'd like to see a high quality graphics version of Sonic, but remaining a side scroller.

It's crazy, now some Sonic fans are "boycotting" this game...

So, they hate Sega when they do something like Sonic and the Secret Rings or Unleashed (The Night Parts), and they also hate Sega when they do the 2d style...

Sonic fanboys(and girls) and the weirdest...
PS: The "boycott" is to buy the original Sonic 1...

already bashing it because its not out, this same attitude from members is what has made W1zzard decide to quit TechPowerUp. Also if you can make a better Sonic game why haven't you already?

Have no experience with the post-Genesis Sonic's, so as far as I know Sonic has always been great and 2D! ;)

Well Post 2D Sonic Games- Sonic Adventure was Epitome of 3D, Sonic Adventure 2 was ok to an extent but that's where things started going downhill, controls became loose and also certain obstacles were forced such as Loop De Loops, also physics of characters were marred such as jumping (Compare Jump of SA 1 to SA2 and beyond and you will notice it)

Dude, so called Sonic fanboys (as MK4512 kindly stated) has been shafted with piss-poor attempts of the Sonic franchise for the last 15 years (comparing it to the Mario franchise). So me saying, that "Gut feeling says it gonna be another piss-poor attempt", is basing on 15 years of disappointed.

Did I say I can make a better Sonic game? If I was in charge of this franchise, I would have stop it further development 15 years ago. Sega has the talent for mature/arcade games, but I have no idea why they keep persisting on Sonic the Hedgehog, dump millions in PR, and give us a C/D rated game.
