Have you tried the new site on your phone? I just did and it looks pretty darn good!
i wondered about that too, but it probably helps to make users aware of the rss feed feature
keep or remove the clickable location, sending to google maps ?
Remove IMO. There's no point to it, since a lot of members don't fill it in or write something funny in it, or just provide the country.
Good on you going with Xen instead of IPB becuase with IPB updates they either break the editor and/or they break the themeing. So people cling to old versions and just do sec. updates occasionally and even some of those updates brick things.
So far I like it with just a few issues, and they are minor.
The name of the person who created the thread and the date is really lite and hard to read for me.
When you are logged in the thread titles are in bold and look great, but when you are logged out they are normal, and very hard to read. We have a lot of users that come, and do not login. So, I suggest changing it to where everything is bold if you are not logged in.
I believe that means there's unread posts in that thread.
I like the new design (HTML5 and CSS3 finally!!) as this one is too dated. Here's my feedback (I know it's still beta)
It's too white, the darker areas should be a bit more darker. Also, the table cell divisions should be a bit darker too
Dates are too light, they should be a bit darkened
I don't like dates below thread title next to username, I hope they will belong to the empty "Start Date" column.
I cannot log in at all.
The mobile version looks very good on my Galaxy Mini too.
For the rest good job
I understand the concept.. I'm just saying that should be a feature for logged in members. If you're not logged in then have them bold all the time.
looks like vb 4 to me
You're right, it looks spectacular and its not bloated/slow like other mobile websites (cough... OCN... cough).
Overall it is an interesting layout. I hope there will be a dark theme included as the one that is currently there seems pretty brutal on the eyes in that it is tough for me to discern between posts.
Changed "Likes" to "Thanks." Test and post your feedback.
edit: looks good but a bit strange. when i use thank i get message "ÿou have thanked to this post" not "[my nick] have thanked" duno how it will look like when there are more then one thanks to the post.
may be you should make new thread and ask more ppl to thank on the fist post so that we can see how it will look like with more thanks.
and i will join the choir for better bordering between posts. ticker and a bit darker line will do the job
Can a mod or admin help me please? I can't sign in in the new forum. It says incorrect password using the same data as this one.
time to try out the password lost feature then. the forums are not linked, xenforo uses an older data dump
Many thanks worked fine
yes it still has my older title there.
Just thought of something that I almost consider to be a necessity: A button that takes you to the "advanced post" (or whatever you call it) on the top of the thread. The reason being threads with many pictures in them. Now you can always go to the new post page no matter how the thread is, but when there are tons and tons of images that first loads and then resizes it's hopeless to post anything until everything is loaded.
Agreed, that would be a nice feature.
Like this: http://www.techpowerup.com/xenforo/index.php?members/chevalr1c.87886/trophies
Agreed, plus it is creepy and too much like certain behaviour of social media.
Seconded, plus the white is simply too bright, even on my calibrated monitor it is not easy enough on my eyes (like on the current forums, or slightly more towards grey,). I suggest "ededed" (as GIMP calls it) in HTML notation.
The lightest blues could be a bit darker (but still light blue).
All uncoloured text should be black, though, for readibility reasons.
Works. I like the "You said 'thanks' for this" mesage.
forgot to ask, will we get notifications when we are quoted, etc in the new forums?
that would be a lot easier to reply to quotes.
xenforo has some new @username feature which notifies you I think. let me make a test post with your name
Separate names with a comma.
