New to windows 8 - just got MS surface pro

Hello,
I've just purchased microsift surface pro.
I've not used windows 8 til now..

let me know good apps, websites, and all other things to do with MS surface pro and windows 8.

how to make backup/system image to restore windows 8/tablet as fresh in future if anything happens??
and al such tips..

Onenote is an excellent program when combined with the surface pro. I have a lot of apps on my surface pro and honestly some of the best apps are the ones that come packaged with the surface pro which Microsoft has made. Be sure to setup your homegroup so you can share everything with your desktops.

On the left handside of the screen is your programs that you have open when you swipe. You need to go into the pc customize area by swiping on the right hand side and change it to not open the last program when you swipe. It gets annoying when you want to select a specific program from a list that you have open.

If you are into Tv series, Trackseries is a nifty app. other than that i really dont use metro apps except the ones from windows itself.

Configure you email in the windows metro mail app, it shows up on your lock screen, and its very fast.

use alt+f4 in desktop to shutdown way faster.

They will work on the Pro version. you have windows 8 pro.
on the other hand surface rt has windows rt.

windows rt will run desktop, but only programs that microsoft itself allows.
a lot of programs would probably work, but they blocked it because of compatibily and
people complaining its slow.

You can install any WINDOWS program you want. That is the beauty of the surface pro... Of course you are limited by the specifications of the device itself.

i'm asking if i need to create recovery disc/image like in notebooks so when some problem arises and i cant run my windows on tablet if it get corrupted, i can recover it using disc/external usb drive using that recovery image..

if i need to do that, how to do it in surface?

USB Drive? Win7 has a disc image creator built in, I can imagine Win8 doesn't, but I don't know.

The onenote program that comes prepackaged with the Surface pro is a "dumbed down" version of Onenote 2013. The social app allows you to have twitter facebook other social media all in one place. Download the remote desktop app... its a good one to have. Cheat keys and tips is a good program to have as well for quick keys that windows 8 takes full advantage of. The app selection is now where near the selection of Apple's App Store yet, so don't get discouraged.

Some good games are Jetpack Joyride and Paperdash.

You are wrong. You have to pay for office on the surface pro.

office 360 is included but 1 month trial only..

ya..i checked swiping finger on left shows all windows but how to close them at once or one by one?

It actually is different. Same for the most part but they took away scheduled scans. You now have to schedule them in task scheduler.

i use gom player for windows 7 on my notebook but it's not properly compatible with surface pro..if i do full screen stretched mode, then it wont show video bar below...
