I'm finding it incredibly difficult to enjoy this game.. it just doesn't feel finished content wise

yeah I couldn't get into it either. it very much relies on having a group of friends who are all willing to play at same time for max enjoyment. which is fine, but if your group isn't heavily coordinated, there really is no point to this game

This also leads to why I stoped actively playing MMOS a while back.
I don't have a single friend anymore who plays these things and playing with randoms can very well piss me off 'I don't like most ppl' and turn me away from the game so I pretty much solo everything nowadays until its not possible to progress further on my own.

Most likely this will cause the end of my Lost Ark adventure too at some point unless I find a small group of non jackass ppl who actually function like a normal/chill/grown up person. 'yeah fat chance..'
Then you need to try Tera or, better yet, Guild Wars 2.

The latter is getting an expansion due February with a new class spec for everyone. The past expacs were great. Content rich. And even without... the content is absolutely ridiculous by now. It also has an elegant way of dealing with grinding and loot tiers. There isnt any, most of it is cosmetic bar for the good old rarities from common to rare, plus a minor bump on top with Ascended weapons. The latter are only required for specific Pve content, and PVP is level playing field regardless of gear.

Combat is highly dynamic, classes are very deep and have great skillcaps.

I did try Tera when it was new and most recently ~1 year ago, the game still runs like complete dogshet droping down to sub 30 FPS in cities and such regardless of the settings since its still 1 core/thread limited and my 1600X is not exactly a beast in that regard.
After noticing that I said yeah nope and deleted the game, one trash optimized MMO was enough in my life. 'cough Vindictus'

GW 2 I thought about trying since I heard good things about it but since I'm not into PvP anymore idk if I want to play a game like that and pay for it.
Tho I'm not sure how forced PvP is at this point in the game but I rather not deal with it much if possible in any game.

gw2 runs like **** - very unoptimized game imo. tera is more optimized than gw2 is imo.

and yep i agree, I gave up on most multiplayer games. I have had some good luck recently with Final Fantasy XIV but that's about it.

New World is totally worth the entry fee IMO. I'm having a blast. You can solo most everything and grouping up for dungeons is super easy. Plenty to do within the game. This game reminds me a bit of LotRO, (which I loved)!

The game has 5 different cookie cutter quests that just get put on repeat... And even the mobs you're killing are identical regardless of the zone.. zombie farmers, zombie pirate, random animal, occasional zombie dragon looking things.

It looks nice (not amazing but certainly not bad), the combat is meh (not being a lock on mmo is kinda nice, but you can just spam your left click and be fine), pvp is meh (no balance, relies on players to police themselves to keep FvF competitive).

That's all ignoring the multi hour queues because the servers have an absurdly low player cap. There's also the usual new launch bugs but those are expected nowadays

https://www.forbes.com/sites/paulta...rebones-quests-are-almost-a-parody-of-an-mmo/ covers it pretty well

That was a good and accurate write-up. Like the author, I am still having a great time leveling and grinding up all the profs the game offers but he is very accurate in how the quests work and such. Still, there is potential here for sure and I'm enjoying myself (which I never thought I'd admit considering how bad closed beta was) so I will continue to plug away and have some fun.
