Hello TPU community,

I'm planning on building a PC,mainly for gaming and I would appreciate any advice.

How I currently imagine the build :

CPU : AMD 8350FX
MoBo : Asus Sabertooth 990fx Gen3
Ram : 8 gigs of 1600 DDR3 (Possibly Corsair Vengeance or Kingston HyperX Beast)
GPU : Asus AMD 7950 (or 7870)
Case : NZXT Phantom 410
PSU : My old Coolermaster RealPower M620
plus my HDD, SSD and optical drives from my old pc and maybe a Corsair H100i, after the rest of the build is completed.

Currently I'm using an Intel Core Duo E740 with an AMD 4850 GPU and 4 gigs of DDR2 RAM.

Initially i was planning to save up for the Motherboard,CPU and RAM and use them with the 4850, but i'm worried that the graphics card will bottleneck the processor, so i won't get much of a performance increase.Should i just get the Phantom 410 now to upgrade my Thermaltake V9(which I've come to hate) and get the rest of the system later alltogether?

Any other advice on the build would be appreciated!

In brutal honesty, it's a very nice build, and you;re using components i would use myself.
That PSU however i would replace with a generic OCZ/Corsair 650Watt Bronze PSU.

corsair memory of course...
try to get low latency mushkin ones if you can.

rest is good, although i would personally buy an Asus motherboard now.

PSU should be something from seasonic or corsair.

ive got a similar build, im currently modding at the moment.

first of I would warn ya, some people hate asus cards, I love mine it smashes the fk outa overclocking especially on air.

secondly, the psu may need updating. I think an oc'd 7950 draws about 300w. yours is old no?

the build sounds great, im posting my mod up today so keep an eye out for inspiration.

the nzxt case is good looking, especially in a red/black build.

and get the case, get the rest later. I done part at a time so it didn't seem like a massive expenditure.

definitely get some aftermarket cooling, its a MUST! these 8350s kick out some major heat, im getting a closed loop very soon tbh

sneak preview on pc atm if ya look ;)

Total build costs around 1150 € and I've saved up around 300 € during the last few months
Case costs 130€ while Mobo,CPU,and RAM is about 450€.GPU costs about 250-350€(7870 and 7950 respectively)

I've been using this PSU for about 3 years now with no problems whatsoever.I'm not looking to do much of overclocking, not any at least before i get a new PSU just to be safe.I was planning on getting a Corsair TX750M, but a bit later since i think the one I'm using can handle the new (non OC'd) components).

As for looks i was planning on getting the white phantom, with blue LEDs inside.Hope that Sabertooth doesnt look weird with it's 'earthly' color scheme

Benchmark Scores I don't benchmark.
I would only suggest going with a 1866 MHz RAM. While the game performance difference will be too minor to notice, games will load faster and the system will be more response. Just keep the timing the same as the 1600 kit or better.

Are you kidding me? the power configuration of a standard (2x6pin) 7950 is only good for up to 225w and a heavily OCed 7950 will only draw between 150-200w at most.
