i am a newbie to this forum, and i am happy to join with u to learn more
here i have several questions about the differences between the specifications of ATI and NVIDIA cards.
1/ frequency. ATI cards run at a much higher frequency, about 100mhz higher than NVIDIA
2/pipeline. ATI cards have more pipelines builtin, about twice as NVIDIA
3/memory bandwidth. ATI cards are more likely to corporate a memory bandwidth of 256bit.From 9800pro on, there are various models. While Nvidia has fewer 256-bandwidth cards. eg. the best-seller of nvidia-family:7600gt
hereby I am puzzled with these differeces. As known, the specifications above are vitally important to tell their performance. But how can these differences results in similar class of performance?
