Hell, I paid $199 for my 9550+. Outisde of individual threading speed, why would anybody even bother?
    Edit:
I'm looking at the specs right now and I see 3.5mb L2 cache, how much is on each core? 1.16667mb?

X3 8650 is priced right, 8750 is a rip-off. We have some competition for Wolfdale now.....until a 'Core 2 Trio' comes out.

    3.5 MB L2 Cache :wtf: It should be 3x 512 KB L2 + 2048 KB L3.....good to see L3 size remains the same. I was expecting a 1 MB L3.

Well if the Tri's clock higher(which I hope they do) then I will get a X3 but if they are 'bout the same as a X4 in the OC'n department I will grab a X4. And im not sure ive been really out of it the last few days, felt like shit.

The x3 probably does. Day one when I got my x4 I gave it a 20mhz bump and it failed, however a 10mhz bump did fine. I havn't tried giving it a volt bump yet, but there's definately room though, I keep it at stock because it's still my baby. Under load it hasn't gotten past 100*F yet.

    Edit:
The new cool and quiet stuff is all funky though. when the cpu is idling the multi drops to 5.5x and then when it's under load it brings it back up to 11x. I disabled it in C&Q in bios, but it still shows my multi jumping around in cpu-z and everest... probably something to do with built in drivers for vista sp1

Umm... your E2200 most likely destroys it.

That's probably true for pure data, but graphics and gaming I would go with an AMD CPU any day over Intel. My photoworxx benches in everest kick the shit all over everything listed.

    Edit:
And the cache is worlds better.

The X3 beats the E6400, both at stock in games but not in benchmarks. Im sure if they can get to 2.8ghz+ it will be better.

I cant remember where I saw that but it was the 8X00's not the 8X50 so its probly a little better.

The phenom is a generation newer than the dual core pentiums too. Comparing Sockets A and 478 to this is like comparing a socket 478 and a 370.

No I dont. I have to keep voltages on auto at 3.2ghz and its only gaming stable prime fails after 2 hours. 3ghz is the same but prime is 7 hours stable but 24/7 gaming stable but 2.8ghz is the sweet spot I got that running 2 days straight on Prime stable.
