Hey TPU dudes!

Im currently using a P5Q SE2 motherboard (budget model as u figured) and currently i got it very stable, no issues what so ever anymore, my current FSB is 425x8 which equals 3.41ghz cpu clock on my 2.66ghz Q9400 CPU.

I was whondering if its worth to change the motherboard to a ... lets say: Asus Striker II Formula OR XFX nForce 780i ?

Im planning to upgrade to a gtx470 shortly after they arrive, and i have no intension of running 2x in SLI so, i wont be needing neither CF or SLI.
What i do need is: Performance and Stability.
Im not planning to move on to i7 this year either, neither to upgrade my memory since i just dont think its worth the extra money to buy new memory to go from 850mhz to 1066mhz ddr2 if anyone else could talk me over it?

So... What do you guys here on TPU say?

All answers is much appreciated!

I wouldn't invest in another 775 MB. 3.4 stable out of a Q9400 is not bad at all, save the money you would've spent on your future upgrade to 1156/1366/AM3

Pretty solid arguments.
However, i am a gamer, so my next upgrade will be a gtx470 for sure, and whenever my cpu or memory fails to satisfy me in the future games due to bottleneck? the gtx470 (which i doubt my q9400 will at my clock speed?) Only then, i will upgrade to a better platform with new cpu, mb and memory :) at the moment, the only thing that slacks in my system is my graphic card, its really bottlenecking my memory and cpu in the games and benchmarks
But hey, it was cheap!
And when its OC'd , it runs BFBC2 at 1980 resolution, 4x MSAA, everything on max including HBAO without any lag in MP...
I can do even higher filtering on singleplayer:)
But im thinking for future gaming now ofc...
