nibitor overvolting... how do I do it?

It sits at 1.1v. I origionally tried 1.15v and I didn't see any affect from that either. I do believe that I am screwed. If only I could find the thing that is blocking the voltage request from the BIOS and get rid of it somehow...

Hello hat, i believe can can shed some light here, since owning a 6800 video card i have been using nibitor and nvflash to write new bios's to cards. i used your exact method as listed (which i belive to be absolutely correct) on the 6800 ultra, 2x8600GT's, and 8800GT, a 9800GTX and a GTX260.

sadly, measuring results with a digital volt meter on the 6800, 8600's, 8800 and 9800 showed no improvement whatsoever over stock.

this is when i first got into pencil modding the 8600GT's, which did improve voltage, and a variable resistor hard mod on the 8800GT/9800GTX which also achieved real results. (thank you solaris17

sorry but i doubt it will work for you, the only hope i believe with nibitor for now is the new version supports changing the voltages only on the cards with the volterra vregs where you can write new values using the 2IC interface.

i am willing to share overclocking results with and without hardmods too if you like, naturally the nibitor mods never heeded results, except the anomaly i found with certain cards that, if you wrote higher stock clock speeds only, that alone seemed to give more oc headroom.

Damn. Well I'm not going to break out the soldering iron and potentially damage my card for a voltage increace that my cooling probably can't handle anyway.

Yeah, with a bios mod, flash back, nobody can know what you did, thus not loosing warranty. Hardmods, nogo

I'm pretty sure they can tell if the BIOS has been flashed... probably by checking the BIOS date. They can tell if the card has been overclocked as well.

Well, thats when you RMA, if you wanna sell, with a hard mod it's vissible to anyone that card is not as it should be, bios mods, no one can notice unless they really look into it.

I just hardmodded my 8800gt, First time doing such a thing. Its not really difficult at all, just get some fine rosin core solder. I got 60/40 and its way to thick, but I still managed.

All in all I spent 16$ and 3 trips to Radio Shack.

I'm sitting at 1.25V and hitting 810Core (600) stock and shader @ 1764 , with no artifacts running Furmark. So far so good.

I just wanna hit 850Core and i'll be good.
