Looks cool.
But for $15 you can get like 100 bright LEDs and resistors then hook them up to you 12v line ;)

wouldnt you fear the sheer amount of obstruction a kit like this would add?
like wire getting in the way and cutting off airflow etc

No way, no how. In total I've spent $1500 so far on new hardware - that's an investment I make once every few years. The case modding so far on my new case... the case was free, I've spent about ten dollars on two 100x1x16 cutoff wheels and some hinges, some rivets... paint and perspex is gonna set me back another twenty, the decal work is gonna cost the most.

By contrast, if I were to do equally drastic mods to my car... the car is worth $3000, the bodykit that I've already got is worth $1000, lowering springs $500, performance struts $400, window tinting $100, mags and tyres $1200... and that's only got it looking half-good without the performance to back it up.

Sorry to burst your bubble... I couldn't help myself. :)

lol if you want to include "hardware" not mere cosmetics, hows £150 on a PSU take your fancy? £170 on a mainboard, £200-400+ on a graphics card (and thats not even taking into consideration SLI or quad SLI) about a £350 kit of memory...and thats still not taking int consideration all the hardware in a pc :D

Ooooh the hardware side... so far it's $500 for the P2B Deluxe WiFiAP, $470 for the Core2, $150 for the Antec PSU, $500 for 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800... still sans videocard and drives.

The car on the other hand, to improve performance I'd be looking at about $2000 for a port and polish, $500 for a supercharger, $400 for an aftermarket computer, $300 for an exhaust system, $750 for performance cams, $1000 for forged internals...

It's all relative - the geeks spend less but at the end of the day the gear they have is valued less than the average performance car or in the case of most ricers, the average family car with thousands of dollars in modifications :)

That's the upside - with a computer, it's quite hard to build the equivalent of a family car with thousands spent on it... unless you start with something like a Celeron and throw a powerful CPU in with big drives, lots of RAM but leave a ratty videocard, motherboard or PSU. *shrug*

For now I'm too poor to work on my car anyway so downtime on the computer it will be :)

New Zealand dollars... not THAT bad. Could've been worse if I paid retail. Any reference to money is in NZD... sorry I should've taken that into account too :)

Divide by about three for pound if I remember right.
