NiceHash Unlocks 90% of LHRv3 Restriction for NVIDIA GPUs

NiceHash, one of the largest mining software providers in the world, has today announced that the company had updated its QuickHash miner with the capability to unlock 90% of the performance for NVIDIA's Lite Hash Rate (LHR) version 3. Currently, there are only two cards available with LHRv3 on the market, and those are NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB version and RTX 3050, which are limited in the software to have poor hash rate when mining. This is done to get these cards away from the hands of miners and into the hands of consumers. However, engineers working at NiceHash have presented QuickMiner v0.5.4.2 Release Candidate, which unlocks 90% of that LHRv3 capability.

Previously, the company has already presented its work and enabled 100% unlock for LHRv2 cards and has now almost the entire stack covered. It is a matter of time before LHRv3 unlock goes up to 100%. NiceHash advises using NVIDIA driver version 512.15 or higher to get the latest unlock. Some stability issues have been fixed in the release, so users will experience no BSODs upon running the mining software.

I believe btc will crash below 10k usd around october 2022 - march 2023 then stabilize around 15k in 2023 and back to 30k in 2024. People will not buy gpus for mining this year because mining will soon be negative profit.

I doubt it will, BTC has never crashed below its previous ATH, first time for everything though. Don't hold me to it.

True but those times btc grew 100 times or more example 200 usd to 20k in 2018, this time was only 23 times 3k to 69k, so there is a possibility btc will stagnate from possible low 5k to 20k high next year and only rise again to 30k in 2024. I know is hard to accept it right now, imagine if you said last november that btc would crash to 25k when it was almost 70k people would laugh at you but that was bull market, this is pre bear market, lot of room to crash yet.

Artificial limitations are bad, but the absord energy consumption by crypto is worse, especially considering crypto is really a pyramid scheme that does nothing truly beneficial for anything.

I don't have money in crypto (i have 100€), i really hate the waste of energy. But denying that a decentralized currency would be beneficial to all it's absurd. It's a great idea that still hasn't been implement correctly. My opinion anyway.

I think this is just another crypto dip, that has been the norm so far, this is nothing exceptional. It will bounce back eventually.

that's not exactly right, there are features missing in both cards when you compare them side by side, you should use them accordingly to the use you are going to give them
