The Venator is the second mouse by Ninox, a company that was founded by a member of the ESR Quake community. With this second mouse, Ninox has stepped up their game, using the best currently available sensor with outstanding tracking performance. Let's find out if this $50 mouse can deliver on the other aspects too.

A shame that it's small. Thanks for the review.

Are the sides the same material but textured or something else?

This is some shitty color schemes right there. I would not want to spend more than 10 bucks on this. Reminds me too much of this

I also like all my computer stuff to be black. Also, I'm in love with the design of MX510/518/G400/G400s so it's pretty damn hard to change a mouse when I'm used to this.

It would be nice to try something new, but it's just too damn hard. :D

In the specs it says it's Ambidextrous. It's not. It's a right handed mouse.

Maybe I've been reading the wrong sites, but these mice reviews are the only ones I've seen that go beyond simply looking at the mouse's specs and actually test usage in a meaningful way. Thanks for that.

Slightly different material and it is kind of punctured. It is easy to grip that way.

It looks like that in my pictures, but I think is more due to my camera lighting. It is more white and less yellow in real light. Also the lighting differentiates it from office mice. But it's correct, it's going for a neutral shape which makes it look like an office mouse with the lights turned off, but it also is a nice shape to grip.

In the specs it says it's Ambidextrous. It's not. It's a right handed mouse.

It's an ambidextrous shape with side buttons only for right handed use. It is still an ambi shape.

Thanks, I'm trying to give as much objective criteria as possible to judge mice, like performance and such.

I'm sure when other reviewers say "this mouse has a 1000dpi sensor - yup, the cursor moves faster than this mouse with only 800dpi" think they're giving objective measures as well. Yours just happens to be more useful ;)

Edit: plus, you have the cooler avatar.

I was quoted without a reply :p?

Weird, could have sworn I wrote something there. Anyway, the sides are a bit different, the material is more smooth compared to the lightly coarse top material. But of course the indentations on the sides make it feel much more grippy in the end.

Thanks for the response. I might pick one of these up sometime. I've been considering getting a secondary mouse dedicated to FPS.

Being left handed I assume when something says it's ambidextrous that I could use it left handed. I'll keep that in mind in the future, though.
