The price for Americans is $249.99 and the release date is March 27, while Europeans will get it a few days earlier, on March 25th. European pricing, however, will be decided by retailers, which leaves us feeling a little bit unfulfilled. Courtesy of our chums at Joystiq and various retailers, it looks like £229.99 is the going rate in the UK, while the rest of Europe is looking at €249.99. (Curious how it sizes up with portable's past? Joystiq's got you covered.)

Nintendo is promising "30+" games to be available in the US during the launch window, more than 25 in Europe, with that window spanning between the actual launches in March and E3 in June. Sadly we're still in the dark regarding which games exactly will be available when the system drops in March. Many games were discussed, including Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D, Dead or Alive Dimensions, Rabbids 3D, Resident Evil: Revelations, a new Paper Mario, and an obligatory Madden game too. There are plenty more mentioned in PR below. This is in addition to titles we already knew about, like Pilotwings Resort and Kid Icarus: Uprising. As for pricing, retailers are showing $40 to $50 per game, so yeah, that's a We're also told that remakes of classic GameBoy and GameBoy Color titles will be hitting the Virtual Console.

Awesome...we'll get to destroy eyesight even faster now at an expensive price point.

I'm not a fan of 3D technology at all.

WOW DAMN, those graphics are amazing. Easily compare or even beat the PSP! And in 3D aswell! This looks like it will be promising. I would also like to see a button to turn 3D off and on. I might even prefer this as a handheld over my Ipod Touch 4th gen :O.

I am a big Nintendo fanboy and I have been following this.

The 3ds fixes the friend code problem the DS and Wii have and essentially does exactly what STEAM does with your 3DS.

However it has a 4-5hour battery life with 3-4 hour charge time. This does not impress me.

Say what? Sounds silly. Do you have links, sources? Did they really have a 3D Gameboy? Or are you thinking about Virtual Boy (wich is totally not related)?

i don't care for 3D either, I want to know is the system easy to hold and dosen't make my hand hurt after 30 minutes and if the games are actually fun or is they will just spam the fact that its 3D with shitty games that will get overrated.

That is quite a steep price point, but then again it is a 3D product. Although for $249 you could easily buy either a PS3 or a 360 with that. From my experience a hand-held device should never come close to a console's price no matter how great it is.

Does noone care about the 5 hour battery life? thats pathetic when you consider each previous handheld had 15 hours and this 3ds is only an upgrade of the same architecture. Its still using dual ARM processors.

Meanwhile they FIX the friendcode system that was broken and never should have been broken from the beginning.

The dual 3d camera's are probably going to be the same .04megapixel POS cameras that were in the DSI.

On the subject of Street Pass... Its the same as the WiiConnect24 which was burning out Wii Consoles officially the only fault they have ever had.

There are enough details about how this console works and its features specifics being kept hidden that I will definitely be waiting a few months after its release for the final verdict. The 3d feature isnt enough for me to want to trade my DSlite in for one. (now the DSI XL on the other hand I like, its screens make the PSP weep)

that wasnt very detailed. I watched the live press conference online (which was at 1am where I am). More details than that were discussed. IM sure you can find recordings on youtube

big issue with the 3d is that it only works when viewed from a certain angle which can be hard to maintain when using the gyroscopes/motion controls.

all 3D without glasses technology you have to be dead center or you lose it. they need to make some serious strides and work on the viewing angles if they expect to integrate this into next gen televisions.

Agreed, although I have high hopes for Samsung and their ability to do things right
