So I have been trying to get my graphics card to work.

I have tried downloading drivers for this that range from the 9 to the latest catalyst and crimson drivers. I can get the crimson driver to install but once my laptop tries to use graphics card i will get the "thread_stuck_in_device_driver" BSOD. Any other driver either it be radeon or leshcab will get BSOD while installing the driver.
This happens on windows 7 and windows 10 64 bit.

Also when use GPU Z it says my bios is unknown. In the Radeon settings it says my bios is 013.012.000.034.
When searching this it comes up with Sapphire HD 6950 1024. Device ID and Subsytem ID are wrong.
Would it be alright to use this bios as I can't find one that matches my Device ID and Subsytem ID.
I can't save my bios also as i get that error when trying to save it.

PC specs are

Intel Core i7-2670QM
ATI Radeon HD 7690M (1 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
HP dv6-6c36tx
Device ID: 6740
Vendor ID:1002
Subsytem: 185E 103c

Changing the BIOS( if another even exists) is not a solution. Your BIOS is vendor specific(HP)so even if you could find another BIOS you would brick it. You need to look at other options BIOS flashing is not the answer.

Thanks for your reply. The only reason I'm looking at bios flashing is to fix my thread stuck in device driver problem. From what I've read updating the bios and vbios can rectify this but unable to find a vbios that matches my system and HP have been no help.
I have updated my bios just on the lookout for a VBIOS.
Would that still be an option. I just want to reflash the same vbios but no one has one.

the 7690M IS a 67**M
they are identical chips just renamed thats is the ONLY difference
the only drivers you are gonna get are the legacy drivers those are the only drivers that will work you will never get any newer drivers
old chip is old nothing is wrong, leave well enough alone

Thanks for your guys replys. I have tried all of the above drivers and still having problems.
I just want to try reflash the vbios thats the same so I can tick that off and move on to other troubleshooting options if it doesn't fix my issue.
Just can't seem to find my vbios anywhere.

Note: I just though it was weird also that my VBIOS i'm running is the vbios for a different card on the website.

we told you NO
if you attempt flashing the vbios you will brick it the vbios is specific to your model of laptop there are NO other compatible vbios's,stay off of google ... before you break something

amd does not support your card anymore: the only option is to attempt to mod the drivers
