NO on board sound

Recently i installed a new GPU (HD 5770) after the previous (GTX 460 SE V2) died.
After starting up the pc i noticed that the Optical SPDIF light is off.There was no sound coming and windows only showed digital output.I should mention that I don't use digital output.
Despite everything I did I couldn`t get sound back on.
This is what I tried:
Removed GPU and used IGPU
Reinstalled realtek driver.
Disabled and , after a restart, enabled the onboard sound from BIOS.
Removed all the audio devices drivers, and reinstalled the drivers.

I have attached a nfo with all system info (just change extension)

Any ideas before I go and buy some awful usb sound card?

Edit : I also did a bios reset.Sorry I forgot.

Try changing the playback devices in windows. Its under sound in control panel.

Does the PC sound work if you use iGPU?

there are better sound cards that go in a PCI/PCI Express Slot, they would be better than the onboard for noise isolation even

What OS is this? Did you do a complete uninstall of nvidia driver before installing amd drivers? After you installed the new GPU, and booted into windows, did sound work then BEFORE installing the AMD drivers?

also, are you using 3.5 mm jack connected to speakers/headset and not SPDIF? If only SPDIF shows up, it's possible the sound playback device is disabled. Right click on the playback area and click show hidden/disconnected devices.

Why did you get rid of your SB? I use the ZX and feel its great for my needs and like eidairaman1 said, its better than on board.

SPDIF connector emits a red light all the time.Now it has stopped.I am using 3.5 mm jack , tested with speakers and headphones , both rear of MB and Front connector.
Changing playback devices in windows 10 does nothing at all.

Are you certain it was the GPU that died on its own and not a PSU on its way out? Because the latter may have spiked and its killing your hardware. Given the general age of that rig, its a real option

Another thing, can you route the audio through your GPU?

The Gpu is ok it works fine.The PSU is getting old indeed.I`m going to test the HDMI port and report back.

I was referring to your 460, not the 5770

If you do get sound through your HDMI then at least you have a workaround. Not a solution

The 460 had output errors like green blocks, green red dots, and at the end it wasn`t recognized by the OS Also i baked it a few times and after the bake it worked ok for a few months.
Also the HDMI out works fine.

Have you tried the card in another system? Would a clean install be an option here? I really believe it's software/driver related issue. I quickly googled HD 5770 installed but no sound and there are a ton of forum posts on other websites talking about your problem.

The card works perfectly, HDMI outputs video and sound.Reinstall is not a option but i could try a live Cd from ubuntu.

Have you made sure these are disabled? I have to disable it every time I install new drivers(personal pet peeve)It always defaults back to the AMD sound device disabling my soundcard.
