ok guys, basically after everything that happened in this thread here http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=100829 i was still waiting on my RAM to retuirn from RMA, get that back and i have some bad ram slots
so, being as this would be the 2nd time for RMAing my mb and i had already RMA'ed my RAM 3 times, and video card 1 time, i figured it was time to send back my PSU as well as my MB.

so last night i put everything back together, check all the wire, plugs, and connections, and try to boot the computer up. No Post No Boot. i check all my connections again...still nothing

now, it should be noted that before i RMA'ed my MB and PSU i was having problems where it would take 5-15seconds for the computer to post and boot, but it would do it, now i have nothing. at this point im thinking my processor, for some reason, had become fried.

anyone have any other ideas or things for me to check?

i swear im never building my own computer again!

can you try shorting the 24 pin connector to make sure the PSU is at least working? Perhaps hook up a couple of fans via molex to it. It seems like you just hit the fan with the tons of problems you have. Also, if you are able, perhaps try the components in another system and test them?

the psu is working, all my case fans come on, the the MB LEDS come on also, as well as the cpu fan

This may sound silly but make sure that all the standoffs that attach the motherboard to the case are there and that all the screws are tight. I had a similar problem when I installed my current motherboard, then noticed one of the screws was loose. Tightened it up and everything works fine. I'm guessing it uses them for a ground.

i double checked all the screws before i hooked anything up, but the screws are not all the same. i would replace them with other screws to make them all the same but i dont have any other screws to put in

EDIT: do u think i could just get some little washers to use to complete the ground on the screws? would that work suffieciently?

it might as long as they are getting good contact with the metal around the holes. Which has me thinking if the head of one of those mismatched screws is too small and isn't making contact with the ring around the screwhole.

I had a simler problem years ago and as much as i hate to say this, it turned out to be my cpu, the pc would power up but it would not post.
When this happened i also noticed the CPU heatsink was staying cold this was also how i found out my cpu was dead. luckly i had a spare cpu to test aswell and as soon as i put it in the pc booted fine.

Just to rule it out, power on the pc and see if the cpu heatsink is getting warm if it is then hopefully there is nothing wrong with your cpu.

apart from this i don'y have any other ideas sorry.

well, i got 9 new screws and 9 copper washers(we couldnt find the steel ones at ace hardware, and yes i had someone1 who worked there do the finidng hehe)

think that will work as good grounds?
