Hi guys,

I am starting this thread and first thing I want to say is I don't want a comparison between the card's performances I am well aware of what these babies can do.

What I want to know is which non-reference design is better? I'll list them down here to let you know what kind of decision I have to make.

If you're only going to be using it for games, and not something like F@H, go the 6970 :)

The direct Cu ii is an amazing cooler but it takes up 3 slots so you cannot SLI with it, bottom line is, the asus is colder and quieter so go for it if you don't want sli, the gainward heatsink does not take up 3 slots at the back of the computer but it is still to big to do SLI with unless you have a really really really big motherboard.

bottom line
Single card = ASUS
SLI = neither of those

in my opinion use the ref model of 6970 or 570 because in Overall ref model better than custom design ...
GTX 570 is bad for overclocking but 6970 ref better for Ocing because circuit power design is Power full than GTX 570 Ref .

good luck

Cheers for the suggestion, I am trying to stay away from reference models right now, my case has limited intake so reference coolers are out of the equation. So that makes my main focus the temperature and overclocking capabilities of a non-reference card.

Problem of non ref card is :

Hot air of non-reference cooler models In the case gets blown !

This can be a problem :rockout:
