Okay, so i've just got this 8800 Gts, and im having some real problems getting my tv out working properly. What i want is to have a video play FULLSCREEN on my t.v. out when i start playing a movie on the pc, on my ATI x1800 i simply have to select theater mode in the Avivo control panel, however i cant find anything of the sort in this nvidia control panel, im having to start playing a video on my monitor, then drag wmp/nero showtime etc across to the tv, and then click fullscreen (and if i knock the mouse the bloody playback bar pops up at the bottom)

Sounds like you are using Dual View, and that's pretty much what you have to do. Unless you are using Clone, in which case you just do it as if you would on your monitor, and not use your computer. Otherwise just keep your mouse off the other screen and the bar won't come up.

If it does....well then you have a weird computer.

cant use clone without turning my res right down on my monitor (lo-def tv), aargh this is gay my radeon would play it fullscreen on the tv while playing in a window on the monitor, i thought the newer versions of purevideo would have fixed this by now, also, does anyone know how to enable pulldown detection on these cards?, i just cant find any settings relevant to video playback whatsoever (last time i used nvidia was a 4200ti, with the old settings screen, which was far more straightforward)

p.s. dont mean to moan too much as this things outstanding for gaming, and im well chuffed with that aspect of it, but my brother wants my X1800 off me, so this will have to be my video playback device too

try using vlc media player instead of wmp. vlc has all of the video options built into it. just set it in dual veiw and drag the vlc window over there, double click the video and it should make it fullscreen.

Cheers for the suggestions guys, but i think ill just end up sticking with the radeon for movies, the picture quality is just that bit nicer, and i've been meaning to move my media drives to my other rig for a while anyway

edit: i found it!!!, after reading all of the control panel guide, i found the section on full screen video, so i opened control panel...and it wasnt there! (ive emailed nvidia asking whats going on here), however looking through nview i saw in the zoom section there was a full screen video zoom button, and inside this tab was a full screen device tab, i set this and the tv is now automatically fullscreen, yay!

still not quite as good as the radeon though (video playback that is, NOT gaming etc), but good for me, as i cant be arsed to re-route all the cables at the moment

Edit 2: now i've found the pulldown detection, nvidia decided to call it inverse telecine (its in video colour settings, enhancements), now all i need to do is work out where the aspect ratio thing is, as some files are playing stretched to full screen when they shouldnt be (eggheaded people)
