Just sharing this here for whomever is interested. " TL;DR: Nvidia may collect your name, address, email, phone number, IP address, and non traditional identifiers and share this information with business partners, resellers, affiliates, service providers, consulting partners, and others. This information is combined with typical browsing and cookie data and used by Nvidia itself or advertising networks."

Thanks for writing this up. Software had crash reports before Facebook and Google was a thing.
Fuck sneaky licences, t&cs, and data slurping software "features".

Why would you disable telemetry but then also at the same time expect NVIDIA to fix their drivers. Somehow. Telemetry is there for this exact purpose. They can't fix things they don't know about and telemetry tell sthem if particular device is having particular issues and they can spot that without waiting users to manually report it.

You can keep dreaming, just don't say telemetry when the subject is data mining.

Who cares what the eula says when it's been wiresharked and the services are there in the autorun list?

Pretty sure they've covered their asses eula wise anyways...

EDIT: oh, you mean to confirm that statement in particular? Disregard my unjustified nerd-rage-attack.

Yes, confirmation.

From the privacy policy:

When you use our Services, we may collect "Personal information," which is any information that can be used to identify a particular individual which can include traditional identifiers such as name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and non-traditional identifiers such as unique device identifiers and Internet Protocol (IP) addresses....

We may from time to time share your Personal Information with our business partners, resellers, affiliates, service providers, consulting partners and others in order to provide our Services to you.

We also permit third party online advertising networks and social media companies to collect information about your use of our website over time so that they may play or display ads that may be relevant to your interests ...

We may combine personal information that we collect about you with the browsing and tracking information collected by these technologies. We or the online advertising networks use this information to make the advertisements you see online more relevant to your interests.
I really, really hate OPs that provides nothing but links.

EDIT: And it matters because privacy policies and EULAs are something you agree with. They're not blank checks obviously, but still.

Nonsense. E-mail is needed to register NVIDIA account. IP is like a street address. It's not a mega fucking secret. They don't get phone number if you don't give it to them.

If they say they "may" that doesn't mean they "do" all the time with intention. Your name? If collected data involved your Windows user profile which has your real name attached, they'll see your real name in file/folder path. That's what they mean. And it may happen that some of this data can be seen by their internal partners who work for them one or the other way.

And yeah, like someone said, this is NVIDIA Experience, not driver itself. If you don't lie it, don't install it.

I was wrong earlier, it's in the main driver unless I accidentally installed geforce experience at some point...

I don't like that they "may", they won't tell me when they "do", and as far as intentions go I think we can all agree that the intention of business is profit.
