NVIDIA launched the GeForce GTX 660 Ti graphics processor. The new chip is designed to let NVIDIA capture a key sub-$350 price-point, and is designed to offer high performance per Dollar in its market segment. Its rival from the red camp is the Radeon HD 7950. Based on the same GK104 silicon as most other high-end GeForce GTX 600 series graphics cards, the GTX 660 Ti packs 1344 CUDA cores, 112 TMUs, 24 ROPs, and a 192-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 2 GB of memory. Most GeForce GTX 660 Ti graphics cards being launched today are of custom-design with prices ranging between $299 and $349.

judging by the reviews, AMD is in trouble when the 660 kills the 7950,and the 7970 in some cases

Killing a HD7950/7970 Where are you getting your information from? I see a card that took way to long to release.... and now just barely being able to give AMD competition in that segment. I also see this cards benchmarks ranging in performance from below a HD7870 all the way to right on par with a HD 7950. This does not mean this card is killing anything by all means. Lets not exaggerate.

This is still a very interesting card....and I like the idea that is 3 way sli capable.

So much for HD 7950 GE. GTX 660 OC can compete with it. : P

Overclocking monster.

In my city, the 7850 starts at $259 and 7870s are $330 and up. If this card can stand up to the 7950 for less money, i'm in.

It's gonna be like this all over the place. Compared with the 7870 it's in another league so that card must come down to 260$ pushing the 7850 even lower. On the other hand it's a mixed bag compared with the 7950 but if it's cheaper by 40$ then it's a no-brainer really.

like in some games, the HD7870 is equal or so to the GTX 660Ti or better...

it will depends on what price we'll be able to find them..

In Wizzard's reviews, all of the cards were overclocked and priced $30 higher than the base MSRP. I just wonder if $300 is a price anyone will realistically see in the near future.

I had pleaded with them to make this a GTX 666, it being a rare opportunity for that kind of thing. Then the nvidia forums got closed and I never heard anything about it since. Too bad.

Why would you need that much memory? That chip is too slow for games that need that much mem anyways. :/

Well if you look at reviews its beating the 7950 and 7870 in about 95% of benchmarks. I wouldn't say its killing the 7970 though in any regard.

Nope... Just as when GTX560Ti showed it was to be a $250 (MSRP ref), though most all where OC/customs like what happening here again. And just like then it was hard to find most lower than $250 even after 6 months after their release. Heck even when the 1Gb 6950 came 3 months after the GTX560Ti for $235… Nvidia just soldiered on!

AMD has held off price cutting 7870/7850 cards that won’t change till Nvidia’s next round on cards, while 7950 with Boost and custom OC units will be at $300-330 in a week or two. Heck last week a Gigabyte 7950 OC Windforce worked down to $310 after rebates, While original reference 7970 can be found routinely for $370 and that can be flashed to GHz versions.

This card kills the 7870? Another league than the 7870? Read a few more reviews!
7870 vs 660ti Nvidia has the lead. Overclock both and I would give the edge to the 7870.
Remember that the 7870 gives the 7970 a run for it's money OCed while the 660ti can barely
match the 670 when OCed.
Both cards are quite close in price/performance and I imagine the 7870 will drop price first.
Both are great frames/watt, though the Picarin still has the edge. Most people don't care, but still, Kepler is a joke at GPGPU/open CL. In the end a overall good card, but far from great.

Read a few more reviews!

care to link some? and by some i mean RELIABLE sources such as TPU. Dont link some Toms garbage or Fudzilla either. Most ppl here trust W1zz's reviews more than any other site, so it wil be hard to sway their decision without solid reviews from other respected sites.

Oh jesus bring that GPGPU shit up again with kepler. These cards are gaming cards and thats what Nvidia changed from fermi to kepler. Get more game performance out of the cards while reducing heat, chip size, and power consumption. If you want GPGPU get a GTX480 or a Quadro card and have fun.
