ATI already gave up some tech to Intel when the lawsuit was dropped. Thus larrabee was scrapped, but sandy bridge is better.

If nVidia started making x86 CPUs, I'd SO buy one. I'd have a complete nVidia system: GPU, chipset AND CPU. Awesomeness.

I hope they are successful, increased competition = lower prices and faster development. I remember when we had a choice of intel, amd or cyrix. if windows 8 supports RISC, hopefully some of the smaller companies can grab some of Intel's market share.
I wish some other company would go into the Main GPU fray too, we used to have ATI, nVidia, Matrox and another company (made savage 3d chips or something...???)

S3 Savage. There was also 3dfx. S3 lost market share dramatically and were bought by VIA, 3dfx went bankrupt and were bought by nVidia.

I do agree that it is time for "A new challenger appears!".
