Good night, everyone!
A friend of mine bought a GTX 1050 graphics card to replace his old AMD HD6870. He only replaced the AMD card, because it started to display some green vertical lines on screen and throwing Bluescreens at him.
Today, we plugged in his computer, without any of the cards (using the iGPU) and it booted to the desktop just fine. When we plugged the 1050, it had no display at all, even with some settings tweaked on the BIOS. When we plugged the HD6870, the same happened. Since he only has a VGA monitor, he has to use a VGA to DVI adapter for both cards. When we tested the 1050 with a VGA to HDMI adapter it worked flawlessly. We then tested the card with another VGA to HDMI adapter and there was no display again. What could be the problem here? All of the adapters are working and were tested.
His Computer Specs
Core 2 Quad Q6600
Intel Desktop Board (Don't Know The Model)
4GB DDR2 800
450W Seasonic PSU
It's an old machine and we both know the CPU and RAM are a serious bottleneck.
Thanks in advance,
Anselmo Pereira
